Review: Kill Bill Volume 1

I think there's only one way to sum up how I feel about Kill Bill. It's the best movie ever. There, I said it, and I'm not changing my mind. Never have I seen a movie as enganging or entraining. The acting and dialogue are poor, but the way it's delivered is priceless. Tarantino really is the best director ever.

Kill Bill tells the story of The Bride, her real name being bleeped in the soundtrack. She's shot in the head on her wedding day by the order of her boss, Bill, and wakes up from a coma four years later in the hospital. She has a list of those who were involved in her attempted murder, and moves down it one by one, scratching them off as she kills them.

But the storyline doesn't matter. What matters is the action. And it is totally awesome. There are so many influences here it's impossible to notice them all in one viewing. In one seen, The Bride kills or maims 88 samurai, all in black white, set to the music you would find in a Kurosawa samurai epic. The backstory to Cottonmouth, one of Bill's assasins, is a ten minute long Anime sequence. And in one scene during the film, she kills a group of samurai, but you only see the silhouetes of the actors set against a blue backdrop.

This movie just drips in coolness. There's so much in it you would have to see it ten times to notice it all. In fact, I can't even write a good goddamn review because the movie has clouded my mind!

You've probably heard about how violent the film is. Well, let me say, you won't be disappointed. Whoever said this was the most violent film ever is right. To get the picture, think The Ninja Scroll, only ten times bloodier and in live action. That should give you some idea what this movie is like.

Well, I've said enough already. JUST GET YOUR ASS TO THE THEATER AND SEE KILL BILL RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!
