Have you seen the Lone Wolf and Cub series?
After seeing Kill Bill a few times and seeing a few interviews with Tarantino, I understand that some of his favourite movies, and movies that prompted him to create Kill Bill were the "Baby Cart" series, a.k.a. the "Lone Wolf and Cub" series, a.k.a. the "Sword of Vengeance" series.
Read the reviews at IMDB and Amazon, seems kinda cool.
Anyone here ever see the series or read the original graphic novels?

I've read about 20 volumes of the original manga and 2 of the new Lone Wolf 2100 series form Dark Horse. And I've seen one of the movies, I just love this sitz :P
It's brutal and has some interesting characters to say the least.
I've got SVCD rips of all 6 movies. They all came from these rare LaserDisc's my friends got. Of course I also have S.A.
The best place to buy these is from hkflix.com
Or I'm sure you can get bootlegs from a million different sources.
I still remember buying mine wayyy back in the day from a little kung fu/pr0n video shop somewhere on the AVE of the Americas in NYC.

Yes! And i have all the babycart graphic novels.
And yeah, Shogun Assassin = mmmm.
I read about 5 or 6 of the Lone Wolf and Cub grahpic novels. It's weird, because when I was watching KB, I noticed simliarities. Now it makes sense

I'm in the middle of "aquiring" the Baby Cart series.
So far I've seen the first three:
Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance
Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx
and Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades
Really cool stories, lots of blood and great cinematography. Ogami Itto is a great character and the fight scenes are done really well. I've never been one who's into subtitles or foreign movies, but these are great. I don't think I would have liked them as much if they were dubbed. Although, with the new music and faster storyline "Shogun Assassin" would make an interesting comparison.
Ogami is the coolest swordsman since Groo.
If you're a Kill Bill fan (movie gets better each time I watch) definately pick up the Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance series.
