holy crap!
watched sample and wow... DD 5.1, no watermarks (nfo says watermarks were embedded in the subs so they stripped the subs and watermarks gone
) and trailers with untouched video.
what does this mean? this means for the SVCD release it's going to be the same as a retail release. for DVDR basically the same unless the retail will have DTS and/or any extras (which would probably get stripped anyway).
because of this i'm definitely picking up this release. you should too. not too often you find a dvd scr without watermarks or a timer and dd 5.1
I think I'll pass on this release ... first off, this is a screener, I bet all the ppl who wants subtitles are pissed off, I know I would be ... TDX rules were broke, it might get nuked, I dunno ... I'm personally not going to download a dvdr with no menu, that's kinda silly.
Subtitles are a must, its just a screener for christ's sake ... for those of you who don't know tdx rules, please don't reply asking on the forum what they are ... kthx haha.
sample looks ok, it's almost like they are passing off an asian DVD5 as a "screener" ... just an opinion though, we'll see how the nukers like it
just on a side note ... I've seen this release on one site ... for a big Replica release, that's kinda strange ...
crackerjax you up there in International Falls? lol i was born/raised in MN. love it up there.
ANYWAY - after further inspection on this release it's PAL. this makes me mad. neither of my dvd players play PAL. sucks!!
Not quite that north ... but north enough that it's fucking cold all the time
anywho ... PAL will work fine on your computer, you could watch the release there if you wanted ... just a thought
pal is sexy
but the movie aint.
another one for the "See! I told you they press all the shitty movies to DVDs for screening purposes! bastards!" pile.

bah ... at least you know what I'm talking about
well its an aussie dvd screener , the reason the subtitles were removed is because they put all sorts of fuckin messages as a permanent subtitle on the disc so im sure you dont want that shit all over your screen.
Well Pal I love pal but then i would makes a change to have a palk and not a ntsc release(argh) lol But as for the film quality fine no probs there but was it not bad enough the first time?
This is my opion so dont take it to heart chill
9/9/5
Hmmm this movie gave the other half a nightmare, so I'm more
than happy with it
good stuff

i downloaded it
my cpu plays it fine but my pioneer dvd player has picture problem going up and down and doesnt stop any help
are the subs stored as images or text? i guess images since if it were text it would be easy edit them. why not edit the images & remove the watermarks, or remove everything, and make some subs for important lines (based on the subs w/ watermarks).
I believe that the subs are stored as .jpgs (or .bmp I forget) and are remuxed with the video after it's ran through CCE, not sure if you could edit the subs to take out the watermark or not ... might be something to check out for other dvd screeners ...
btw, any dvdr without subs is a no-no, I don't make the rules, I just follow them

You guys don't get it huh?
What they meant is that there was text like "DVD Screener, if you bought this movie call 1-800-NOCOPY" shit like that. But it has been realized as a forced subtitle. That's what was stripped. There was no full english subtitle track or whatsoever on the DVD (in fact I never saw a DVDSCR that had subtitles). Compare to BooZers Lost in Translation which is also a Focus Features DVDSCR, and they left that kind of text in.
