The Wash *DVD SCREENER* - SCREENER - TCF

Just posted the sample, quality you'd expect for DVD. No different than a retail dvd quality wise, good job by TCF indeed.

wow...i dont know how these guys get DVD screeners....but they are kick ASS!!!! keep it up!!!

Posted by Cerial on 01-24-2002 02:30 PM:

i can understand a movie company releaseing a movie like LOTR on a dvd screener, but the company is pretty crazy to release the Wash on it, u'd think it'd be a waste of a dvd

Posted by mr_F on 01-24-2002 03:33 PM:

or... maybe DVD is cheaper to make than a VHS.

CD = a few cents.. even though DVD-R's cost like $10 in stores, i wonder what's cheaper.. DVD or VHS

Posted by kerozen on 01-24-2002 03:46 PM:

DVD's are much cheaper, i work in a video store and VHS copies for rental can sometimes go for up to 100$ a piece and DVD's almost never past 40$

im so weird. i didnt want to See LOTR but because an AWESOME dvd rls was put out, i downloaded it and saw it. Now I would never see amovie like the Wash , but for some reason i am tempted to download it. Is it that baD?

Posted by mymusic on 01-24-2002 09:46 PM:

dont do it. its not worth your time or bandwidth. Trust me

Posted by akuma420 on 01-24-2002 10:01 PM:

I'm a snoop fan, and i really didn't like the movie that much. It might have been becuase the xvcd release was horribly encoded, and made it very hard to watch. I wouldn't recommend getting this release (only cuze the movie sucks) unless your a I have to have every dvd-rip kinda guy like me.

Dont Comment on the movie!

Dont comment on the movie, comment on the quality. Yes the quality is just like a dvd and the movie was ok....but TCF is getting to be as good as centropy in my eyes.

Let's just enjoy the quality of the releases while they last!

And YES, the movie is a total waste of $$$

But a very good release that's for sure

Post Reason for DVD screeners

This is the Oscar voting season, so there are many screeners to be had. There won't be this many screeners when the 2002 good stuff starts coming out. And this year is the first year where DVD screeners are prevalent. Remember this...this is the first year in history where DVD sales beat VHS sales. Therefore, here comes the DVD Screener as for this release, it is good quality. But like others have said, the movie sucks.

you can make the svcd play on your dvd if your dvd player will play xvcds

to do this use TMPGenc and nero

exctract the mpg file from the bin and cue

do the following:

1 goto file/MPEG tools
2 select 'simple multiplex'
3 select type 'MPEG-1 Video-CD'
4 video input 'YOUR MPEG FILE'
5 output 'DESTINATION FOR YOUR FINISHED FILE'
6 run

note: make sure that when you insert your file into the 'video input' that the select type option doesn't spring to 'MPEG2 program'. If it does then click 'MPEG-1 Video-CD' again.

Next step:

Start NERO (tested with version 5.4.4.0) using template Video-cd (you need to turn off the standard compliant option, but as all your files have now a VCD header they should be able to fool NERO into thinking they are really VCD files), add files and then burn.
I hope it works for you.

thanks to RISKNET for the info
