Picture full screen , bit blocky and colors looked a little washed ... sounded ok though. Movie itself looks boring to me so wont be watching this ... seen enough in "Titanic" , wasnt this on the Discovery Channel ?

IMDB - Tagline: The legend no one can forget has become the greatest 3D adventure ever filmed.

hmm 3D eh.

6/8/?

It was a 3D movie at IMAX. It was kind of boring to watch but the 3D effects was awesome but watching this without 3D..well... no thanks.

I saw this at an imax theater last August with the 3d glasses and it was quite a show, same technology as the theme parks. That only exaggerates how much worse an experience watching this would be, hopefully HD dvd and 1080p will enable true 3D at home, at least until then a regular 2d dvd would be much better than this. 5/6/7

IMDb speaks of a 90 minute DVD version...

?

This is a show I never got to see & man was I happy to see that someone nailed it. Thanks SOLACE!

Quality is good. Not very sharp, perhaps due to non-3D source? Shrinking to 50% makes all the difference. Sound is perfect. A LOT of watermarks, phone numbers, etc., but it's never really a distraction for some reason. So far the show is good, about what I expected. (7/9/6)

I must admit. I only dl this one because there was nothing new to dl. Had no idea what it was about. this is a dupe of an IMAX theatre 3D release and there is where it belongs. Only for those of you out there that are fans of the titanic. The Pic is quite blocky and FS and the audio is a little above avg. As for the movie, its a documentary. Not my type of movie. Don't waste your bw go see it in the IMAX for full enjoyment.

Waiting paiently for Confessions of Teenage Drama Queen.??
Leslie Lohan is another hottie like Hillary Duff. lata for now...

So 3D is missing from this release? How comes? If it was filmed in 3D, this release should be 3D too, shouldn't it? I think all you need are 3D glasses. I've got them. I am going to download this release, put on the 3D glasses and look what it looks like. It worked fine with "Spy kids 3D" release (downloaded off the internet and watched it through 3D glasses).

EDIT:

ok, I downloaded and watched this release, here are my two cents on it:

php, this is the TV formatted version not the IMAX version.

yeah, you are right, watched it, no 3d glasses needed. that's a pity

This is a typical vhs screener

exactly. and we all know what this means. quality sux.

video - 6. looks "washed out". maybe this is intentional? you know, to intensify the under-water-feeling... hehe, just joking. bad quality, no excuses!

audio - 7. good quality, but very low volume. doesn't matter...

movie itself - actually it's a documentary, one that is worth seeing. rating - 9.

Actually I am no fan of documentaries, usually I fall asleep as soon as I see one, no matter what the subject is, I only like fictional movies. But this one is pretty interesting - imagine, a small submarine is slowly moving through the darkness of the ocean, and all of a sudden the titanic appears like a ghost out of nowhere right in front of you! A sublime sight, definitely worth seeing, not just for those who watched the Dicaprio movie. I haven't watched the Titanic movie and still enjoyed the documentary.

I had to edit this post, cause I couldn't post a new reply, there seems to be a problem with the vcdquality server, every time I tried to post a new reply, it resulted in a server timeout, tried different browsers/proxies, never worked, so problem is definitely on the server side, admins, please look into it...

As for the release, video could have been better, sound it very nice but rather quiet. Movie itself (if you could call it a movie, i would concider it more of a documenatery, the hint of storyline there to give it more feeling, since it was created in memory of somebody), anyways quite enjoyed it, definately worth the watch if for no other reason than the fact that its rather interesting to dive down and poke around inside the titanic.

Imax is not widescreen 2.35:1 or even 1.85:1. Imax is closer to 1.66:1 when transfered for video... so this being fullscreen makes no difference at all. Since this film is meant to be seen on Imax screens it does lose the "splendor" when seeing at home. However, this is still a very enjoyable film to see at home and lets you see images of the Titanic that have never been seen before.

About this release: It is the 90 min home video version. This is also not in 3-D. The video isn't very good but it's not bad. It's very watchable. The sound is very clear but also very low - I had to turn up the sound on my stereo. This is a typical vhs screener.

I do recommend getting this release if you haven't seen it and can't wait until the dvd comes out.
