Well, Burger finally decided to let us in on their bitrates and encoding "secrets" in their NFO
However, it is a low bit-rate video encode. Could have been MUCH higher!! 3561kbit/sec is pretty bad for an action movie! Looked pretty bad on my 70". Blurry when complex scenes were on, decent other times (close ups on faces, etc...). Bitrate dipped really low (~2.2mbit/sec) when it needed at least a 3-4.
Also noticed interlacing problems. Especially in the sample (didn't really focus on them while watching the movie, but I watched the sample and EEK, towards the end of the sample when Stifler is talking to Mariana. Really noticed on my computer with PowerDVD. Going to investigate this more.
104 min long movie, with menu... Could have had a bitrate of 4750kbit/sec easy. No extras, just menu and movie... Instead we got half ass encode and some (yay) extras.
Video 4/10 - For interlacing issues and low bitrate
DVD-R rating 4/10 - Kept too much crap and sacrificed actual movie quality heavily.
Wow 70" crazy man. Stop downloading dvdrs man.. all i have to say...
My 52" HDTV looks good with anything over 3000+. This one looked great except I also noticed some interlacing on some movement too on the sample. Could be a bad cut. Didn't see it in the movie.
I'm also glad for the bitrates in the NFO, lets me know what I'm getting. But I'm usually happy with anything over 3000.
Top group , top job. Say no to PDVDs.

But 70" ain't too big... People with projectors I know have 8 feet side screens, which would be around 110". But that costs BIG coin most people don't have.
" People with projectors I know have 8 feet side screens, which would be around 110""
that'll be the pho household then.. 52" ? 70" ? tsk:P 90" left to right, diagonal is dependant on aspect ratio. ah bliss
much better value than plasma imo, and looks a ton nicer than any of the sets i've seen here less than around £5000, and cost a 1/10th of that.

yes projectors that give a big screen does help to immerse you more into a film but they still dont come close to a crt tube still, and before you ask i have seen projectors that cost £25,000 or more in pitch black rooms
but the 8 ft picture is awsome still.
we should take this chat to another thread, but hell im the president and i'll do what i want
our setups not too bad altho im sure we can improve it. progscan ntsc (interlaced pal :/) 4x3 projector with 16x9 compatability with a 3000 hour bulb at around the right height with no need for correction, via component output (to dsub). the blacks aren't bad at all but the whites are a bit yellowy. the projector was only £450 so can't complain at all, no degeneration from dvd playback (no pixelated output etc, hell even with VCD tv rips it looks pretty good most of the time) and with our dts es system booming underneath, a cracking way to watch a film.
we only watch films very late night, so light isn't too much of a problem (hell we don't even have curtains in the lounge!) until someone turns the main room light on

Well, I know it's a little late, but, it was a great release, no problems, expect for a few interlacing problems on my dvd player during some of the scenes. It occured only, maybe, three or four times during the movie. Thanks Burger! Great Movie! This movie rocked from the first scene to the last. 9/10/10!
Just got through burning..and I'm amazed..all the previews and trailers and special features intact.except the deleted scenes doesn't work....lovely subs on fight sequence right on target..no AR problems..nice release..
9/10/10
