-- Kill Bill: Volume 1 *XviD* *RETAIL* - DVDRIP - DiAMOND (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=37506)
wtf? one disc? this movie's too long, and action packed.
i was really hoping for ac3 sound, and a decent bitrate.
really, not any better than the not-so-retail rip.

Looks fine to me, which it should since there are alot of black and white scenes that saves bits for the color ones, gonna grab the DVDR myself tho.
Looks pretty sweet here..just finished watching it..pretty strange film lol but i guess its diffrent and original hehe great rls DiAMOND
8/8/9
It's also missing english subtitles during the japanese speech...
Quality is actually very good. But without those subtitles it's not worth it.
^ There's a subpack they released for this movie, did you check to see if it has the English subs during the Japanese speech scenes?
Peace

Cap from bsplayer and no this is not the only player i get black bars with this release
nm I found out i am an idiot the widescreen bars for for subbies and since it only happens with jap language i didn't notice slap me hard please
Ok folks. Sorry for my mis-information. My first source didn't have the sub pack with it, but I did locate it.
The movie is fine. English only pops up during Japanese speech, and not throughout the whole movie.
I'd say this is one of the better Kill Bill releases. Picture and sound are very very good for being a 1 cd release.
Long live XviD. It looks so much better than SVCD.
Easily the best rip out at the moment, far better than previous releases, only problem is were the fuck is the ac3 sound for this DiAMOND ,this has been long awaiting for a good print ,and now you had the source why didnt you make it as we all wanted it ,never mind ,as for the film itself i thought it wasnt a patch on pulp fiction or ressy dogs i would rate this 9/7/7 as i say shame about the sound
i agree. if the sound was ac3 it would have been near perfect....
strange film.... see if vol 2 makes it better....

9/7/9 (i would put a 10 at the movie but i hated those bw spots)
theres only one reason i get xvid instead of svcd and it is AC3,
and my home divx player.
i mean even the rotk TC had ac3 why not use it for a dvdrip?
that sucks.
sub problems
I'm having some problems with the subpack. I got the subpack but the size of it is around 11 megs. Is that normal? It had another file in it which is around 170k. I wrote the xvid with the 170k pack and there weren't any subs. I can't fit the 11meg subs on the same iso. Am I doing this right, can someone offer some help?
my guess is you got a subpack to be merged in a svcd (switchable subtitles) thats probably why it is 11mb
the 170k one sounds more like a text subtitle file, not bitmaps
with an .srt you can try converting to bitmap subs and then merging to your movie (mux to svcd ) or if you just want them permanently as part of the movie use the srt with directvobsub or ffdshow subtitle option and then reencode it.
and lastly, if you just want the subs in your PC use a video player like bsplayer and give your TEXT subtitles the same name as the movie.
What can i say, Tarentino !! Good rip, good sound, good Movie.
9/9/9
No chance in hell this is a dvdrip if might be ripped from a dvd but not a retail dvd and no final copy reasons......
1. i saw MPAA dots 2 times during this movie
2. Cropped
3.looks identical to that DiCe rip that was floating around a few months back
8/6(ac3 come on)/10
oh ya the last 2 mins of the movie get out of sync pretty badly probally when they spilced credits with the dice video
