Thumbs up

from sample ... looks like both channels audio which is good ... dunno if it needed svcd encode, but it's pretty good quality from the sample .... definate improve from whatever their last release was or whatever ... definate improvement from HABS

video 8
audio 8
movie 9.5, very compelling, used storyline

Not the greatest telesync on earth, but far from the worst. Movie was good, as are most with Denzel.

6/7/7

Just finished watching entire rls, horrible audio, shitty pic as well. washed out and too dark. changing my rating to a 3/4

Posted by Mystic Slippe on 04-27-2004 04:05 PM:

Should be a nuke for having the cheek to put this quality on SVCD.

Rated as VCD i'd go 6/6, as it's an SVCD, 1/1

SVCD & 3 CD *sigh* /meh shakes head

The Picture little blocky at odd spots , the colors are washed and the screen is bright. The Sound has a big hiss to it but both channel audio.

6/5/?

I dont know what cup full of piss you where looking through but no way that video is a 8. video is dark and grainy. not worthy of svcd at all. as for video i give it a 5.6 and audio is about a 7 movie was excelllent i say you go see it in the theaters.

Hmm... did we really need 3 CDs? And WHY on earth is this in SVCD? If you ask me, this sounds a lot like a group trying to credit whore their own releases. Get a life! But, on to the imortant stuff

Audio had a slight humm to it (possible cam source?) and if you know much about this, you can tell heavy filtering was done on it. From the sample, the girls voice is pretty clear, but when you get to the deeper bass of Denzels voice, it gets to be semi-unintelligible. I fear the rest of the movie will be hard to understand.

The video is a rare combination of being washed out, yet still too dark. It looks like the original feed was very dark, and they just kept hitting that 'brighten' button on the encode. So, for my ubbiased rating:

5/4/?

This barely meets my standards for watching, and is actually probably a little below that, but I think that this may be the best bet for you if you really want to see it, as I am guessing there wont be a better release of it in the near future. Prove me wrong though, this has potential to be great, judging from the press.

Enjoy!

V-5.5
A-6
M-i've not watched it yet, looks good.

Posted by SeeDee_MKII on 04-27-2004 05:39 PM:

V: 7 (too much noise)
A: 7 (decent)
M: 8 (good)

Personally once i sorted the audio on the HABS rls and watched on TV it was ok. couldnt complain for a first release. However, this is the same source as HABS, with sound fixed and formatted to SVCD. Typical example of why all TS should not be SVCD.

SeeDee_MKII,

Your absolutely right, this is the same source.

The graininess is present on the HABS too but they had the good sense to encode at 352x240. The hiss comes from changing the audio to stereo, the habs had a slight hiss to it which would then be compounded 2x's, if it wasn't corrected first. The Habs was fine after I corrected the audio, and not for nothing was a better vid quality, (imo), than the Imperial Punisher release.

Which would be another example of why all TS's should not be SVCD's, lol.

R I P P E R . N O T E S

no need to cluttter directory name with proper, enjoy this rls with audio coming in from all places...

Proper who? HABS was a VCD TS (even thou mislabled CAM) .... this is a SVCD TS which shoulda been VCD. So you wouldnt have been propering anyone.

am i looking at a different sample than everyone else ???

you lot are way to fussy !!!

sample = 7/7/?

maybe they chose a good bit as a sample ??

Posted by ou812 on 04-27-2004 09:35 PM:

Bitrate: 1.690 Mbps

CBR SVCDs are blocky, like this one.

anyhow...audio is fine, video is ok, bout as good with the colors as hte TCF punisher rls...nice ot see something decent out of these people..anyhow

6/7/8

movie was cool as shit
whether its svcd and vcd, its still fine, my player plays all, keep your tears for the tissues

Posted by BLUE-NEO on 04-27-2004 11:45 PM:

No major disrespect to ThP but this is just not good. And def. not worth the svcd.

from cd1
6/5/9

dont really care to download the other 2 disc.

I fixed all the issues to the Habs version and re-encoded and enhanced the audio and video and burned to dvd.
And my version is better than this.
