I dunno about being the same source, videocd looked better, btw this was out b4 the VideoCD version
lol same source my ass, this is from a VCD Silver, Video cd's isn't, its capped and the ar is diff. Not nearly the same source. So shut the fuck up and go back to dal net.
Reencode
If anyone is interested in making this and videocd's scooby doo release look much better (in my opionion) with tmpgenc, here are some fool-proof re-encode instructions and a screen shot of the vid quality before and after.
http://www.warpreality.com/images/sb.jpg
Step 1. Open tmpgenc
Step 2. Drag your mpeg in
Step 3. Click Settings
Step 4. Click the Advanced Tab
Step 5. Put a check in Simple color correction and double click it
Step 6. Adjust these settings... Brightness:0 Contrast:95 Gamma:0 Red:54 Blue:51
Step 7. Click OK and OK
Step 8. Click the Start Button on top
P.S. I HATE when these idiots release a re-encode instead of just telling you how to do it yourself.
subtitles
pic/sound is acceptable-which in my book-this is(6/10-just) thanks
well anyone who finds it to much effort to read subtitles *COUGH"americans"COUGH* shouldn'y bother watching a film if they can't watch it as the makers intended-ie crouching tiger has fairly dodgy ENGLISH dubbing and detracts from the whole experience- my point is -that if the asians watched it with asian dubbing and not subs-they would lose the affect the makers were trying to put across-grow up and learn to read.
hey shlap007 great post
ive been doing something of that nature lately
instead i also use the sharpen filter
and on a side note some of you need to get off yall high ass horses cause yall aint no better than no one else in here (RaPpA)
ppl have a right to say what they want if they feel something is copied from a direct source well then thats how they feel
you can reply and say there wrong w/o trying to fucking insult ppl all the time
shit who the fuck are you
some of yall take this message board shit too serious
guess it makes you nerds feel better huh??
y2flyy
woah, nice..... any chance u happen to know how to add black bars so we can get rid of the subs?

well i got scooby and the vid is jus too dark. and they tryed to encode it with too much brightness. i re-encoded windtalkers with ur similar method. the video did come out more colorful. but action scenes a lil more blockiness. but on my standalone its less noticable and the color is much better abnd tehre is less brightness i liek it. ur idea was a good one ima do this more often :-)

Great post shlap
VERY helpful, as others have said. Can't wait to try it-- might be able to salvage a few bootlegs.
My 2 cents: I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH SUBTITLES AT ALL. I hate out-of-sync audio and boom mikes... but the subtitles don't bother me in the least. It usually means decent quality, if anything.

Quality isn't as good as VCD's but in this case the sound makes all the diff.
Props for proper sync
