I grabbed this for my sister, video & audio are nice, i havnt watched the full movie myself but she said the where no problems with the audio, maby you should try burning CD2 again but do so at a slower speed to avoid errors on playback.

8.8. (my sis says 10)

CD2 is most definitely out of sync. Also, black and white screen copy deterrent pops up every once in a while in conjunction with serial number, which is blurred, except for one time when it was SHOWN for about 2 seconds before being blurred out....BE MORE CAREFUL MaTiNE!!!!!
Other than the above, quality was VERY good.

Video 7.5 (would be a 9 if it weren't for above mentioned)

Audio - 8

Movie - 7 I thought it was "cute".

Ok, CD2 audio out of sync but instead of blaming the group - just fix it your self! Run it with TMPGEnc as VCD and set "Source Range" filter to speed up audio as of -450 milliseconds (- (minus)as negative)). Reencode it as VCD with fixed audio and you are the king! Just do it people. Also there is a part repeated toward the end of CD2, you can cut it out as well - it all depends on your skills level. Once you have the source - you can do miracles with it. So do it. Peace.

Hey man, most of us may not know how to edit movie files like YOU. Give us a break. But your advice is good. I really don't care about that particular movie, so I'm not going to do all that, but there have been movies that I wanted to fix the sound sync problem. Now that you explained how to do it with TMPGENC, I'll have to try that out sometime.

how did you know to use -450ms?? is that a default setting or something?

Posted by kurisu on 06-11-2004 11:08 AM:

why couldn't matinee have done that for us - i have movies incoming thick and fast all the time, the point is that i can just burn and watch em, not install software i never needed before and start messing with setting and re-encodes.

i wish matinee would take quality control a tad more seriously, as they are wasting bandwith, server space and end user's time with their parade of crappy releases.

Think they would have repacked it after so long with the use desync

Posted by Dave2802 on 06-24-2004 03:26 PM:

Smile

watched the film the other night, good quality video, sound was also very good in cd 1. cd 2 sound was out of snyc by a fair bit. it wasn't the speed i was burning at, the original file is out! this spoiled the end of the film for me.

8/ CD1(8) - CD2(4)/ 6.5

i couldnt give a rating on the sound without spliting the rating between the two CD's

shame about the sync problem
