Yeah so? Are we going to go make a thread for every dvd player out there that now plays SVCDs and what not? Correct me if Im wrong but isn't this thread more for asking questions about dvd players and not boasting about how you love yours?

Actually the 1200 has a lot of problems w/svcd's as you'll find out in the near future. You can try upgrading the loader but your better off getting a daewoo 5800

I'm not sure if you meant the 1100w here or not, Bill (kinda sounded like you did), but mine has been fine. I upgraded the firmware to take care of the macrovision and the region codes and I haven't had any problems with it.

Should I be worried? The only thing I dislike about my player is the lack of style and the "flimsy-ness" of the case. I'm thinking about building a new one....I just don't know how hard it'll be.

As for the 1200, I have heard it has some problems. I haven't met a daewoo product that I wouldn't classify as "disposable", but then again, I really have no experience with the player you mentioned.

I've seen alot of the 1100Ws go back for an exchange or refund in the 1st 30 days. 2 from freinds. But, bottom line is it works for you. I have been an Apex fan from the start w/600A model. ( I have 2) I picked up the daewoo 5700 for 50.00 from a wholesaler and upgraded it to the 5800 FW and I've never had a problem. Discs I burn at 32X that jump and stutter on apex 1200w's and 500W's never skip a beat on the daewoo. Look on the nerd-out.com forums for a lot of info.

Good point

I know the 1/2 meg 1100w's are supposed to suck, but like you said, I checked on Nerd-Out and made sure I got a 1 meg unit. As for burning things at 32x....er..... ::blush:: I've got a 8x burner. I, know, I know--I suck.
