Fahrenheit 9/11 - CAM - POT

Alright first copy, Not super great but ok, dont need much for a documentary, no huge special effects. This copy was super zoomed in, subs were half cut off when the Iraq people were speaking, sound has a hiss to it. Then again is a CAM. Im not one to download CAMs but picked up this copy to see what the hype was.

Michale Moore takes pokes , jabs and slams the hell out of Bush , his family and the War on Iraq. He didnt really tell me anything new (minus 2 or 3 points) in which the media hasnt played or told us 100,000 times already. He brought up some good Conspiracy Theorys but left them hanging in the movie. I also felt he spent too much time focusing on the greiving mother who lost her son in a down'd blackhawk.

Did this hurt President Bush? I think so .... he slams the hell outta the guy and made him look like a President who is doing nothing but sending people over to a forgien country to get killed while he's on "vacation". Michale Moores facts have to be accurate or pretty damn close cause we all know Amercia and if he wasnt the Bush Family would have his ass in court right now suing him.

Interesting , but just sums up all the negitive points against President Bush in which the media already tells us.

6/7/5

I can't see shelling out 8 dollars for some fat ugly creeps documentary even though Columbine was pretty good.
That said 5/5/7

Not so much worth the hype, but an interesting watch by far. Kept me pretty entertained throughout the entire thing.

Blocky video, hissy hollow sound, and a weird angle ... what more can you ask for from a CAM release? A weird blinky white line towards the top of the screen on the left hand side, got kind of annoying, but I got through it ... btw: it's there the whole movie. Not too many ppl in the movie, I mean the kind that walk in front of the screen, more towards the end ... but like I already stated: it's a CAM.

Due to the weird angle, about 1/2 to 2/3 of the subs are cut off when the Iraqi people are talking, so you have to extrapolate what they are saying, it's kind of obvious, they are saying "F**k you Pres. Bush, F**k you America." Nice. I really thought it was a good idea for them to use only sound from 9/11, and not the infamous video of the planes flying into those buildings. It was more dramatic this way, and less wrenching to watch. I thank the movie makers for that aspect of the film.

CD2 has some really dark parts ... where you can't really see anything that's going on for a while in the video ... it's around 25:30 on the 2nd DISC. Some of the surround sound is awefully muffled too ... like the background music is barely audible, not sure why this is this way, unless it's that low in the movie, 'cause the speaking parts are normal volume, not sure, I haven't had the opportunity to see it in the theatre yet.

I watched it because of the hype, and knew most of what was told. Yeah, it's propaganda, but hell it's why we have "freedom of speech, and freedom of the press." It was entertaining, still fishing through what was fact and what was fiction ... a movie is a movie is a movie ... regardless of it's a biased documentary. Entertaining at most. Wait for the DVD and rent it from Blockbuster

/end rant

whoops, forgot to rate film .... haha
as a CAM:
6/5/7 (good enough) but yeah, Mr. CameraMan, please back away from the screen ... sit in the back row, less chance of getting caught

I'm pretty sure part of the movie is missing. I didn't see anything about the patriot act.

Yes , i agree with you 100% there , thank goodness finally they stopped showing us the planes flying into the buildings that we ALL have seen well over 100 times. Major Props to the Michale Moore and Filmmakers to leaving that picture out and just showing us the aftermath.

Not Complete

Went and saw this last night. Having already seen the POT release I was suprised to see 30 to 40 minutes that were new to me.

THIS RELEASE IS NOT COMPLETE

Watch the trailer and you'll notice scenes not in this release (i.e. Ashcroft singing, Patriot Act stuff)

At least wait until a complete version comes out, or do yourself a real favor and catch this one on a big screen. Nothing compares to the gut-punch of hearing the bombs drop on Bagdad in surround sound - a whole different experience.

saw this at the theater, has a significant part missing shortly after the beginning of cd2.

zoomed in way too far, parts missing, subtitles cut, hiss beginning to end, parts near inaudible, Bush is a traitor 4/4/5

Was ok for a cam thanks for the fast rls folks you get an A+ for being first and c- for the rls itself. 5/5/1
I met Mr Moore Before my unit spear headed the attack into Iraq in the the gulf in 1990. He was speaking to my company the 11th mule.
said he didn't beleive we would win and that we sould not fight Mr Bush's war for oil. He said he would enjoy collecting
our dog tags for his next film. So If You Happen to read this Mr Moore. Kiss My Red Blooded (Devil Dog) Ass. Semper Fidelis!

http://edition.cnn.com/2004/TECH/in...reut/index.html

It quotes Moore, though it doesn't cite a source, as encouraging such downloading by saying: "I don't agree with the copyright laws, and I don't have a problem with people downloading the movie and sharing it with people. As long as they're not doing it to make a profit, you know, as long as they're not trying to make a profit off my labor. I would oppose that."

"The first copies of 'Fahrenheit' -- quite good-quality in the estimation of people who track these things -- began to leak on Sunday night," BigChampagne founder and CEO Eric Garland said. "It's noteworthy that it took so long to show up in a big way in the file-sharing network, which is probably attributable to the fact that the film was on relatively few screens. The copy in circulation is a CAM version (a camcorder copy captured from an actual theater projection of the film)."

Yep, video is way too much cropped but audio was rather ok for a cam. Can't say much about movie yet, maybe I'll wait for a better release.

watched this on the TV

average cam at best.. video is ok, the audio is fair to poor,
no hiss but kinda muffled.

Movie is a joke, it's sophistry at it's best.

cam was decent. video quality was good enough to watch. audio was good. but man does this movie suck.

Posted by HipB on 07-02-2004 05:19 PM:

ok i was excited to see this movie but expected alot more from moore, cd1 is great heard alot of this b4 but makes shocking connections... but then it goes to blah blah blah cry cry cry on cd2, i know it was meant to evoke emotions, but it more made me wish they had a better editor, if they woulda chopped 30 mins of the mom that encouraged her kids to go to the military, then cries because they died, this would be alot tighter and better movie... the release itself, umm... ok its zoomed, but this is a documentary, and i thought it looked pretty good, and the audio, for being an open mic source, and maybe cuz i dont d/l cams... but i thought it was pretty damn good, i remember when most ts's sounded like this lol, low hiss gets loud in like 4-5 parts, but good and clear in general... as a cam: 6/8/6 (it woulda been 9 for cd1 but the 2nd 1/2 drags this movie down, bowling for columbine is a more complete movie in every aspect and his accusations or assumptions have alot more "cushioning" in b4c also.)

Posted by Mezt^Up on 07-02-2004 07:20 PM:

im not sure about this but...it seems to be similar to the first day after tomorrow release with the line at the top, did any of you notice this, too?

I thought I was the only one who noticed that this release is missing scenes. (I saw it in the theater opening night before I watched this release.) I can't tell how much is missing, it's hard to know for sure with a documentary, but it's a pretty good amount. There's a part that doesn't even line up...someone is talking and then all the sudden it switches to another scene. Overall I can't complain since it's free and all but I just wish they pointed it out in the NFO, that's all. Not holding my breath on a TS either since it's playing on limited screens with high security in the US and it's not playing overseas yet.

Red face

5/4/7

The video was way cropped and slanted badly. The camera man I believe was way too close to the screen. (He's gonna get caught that way...lol) The audio was also pretty horrid. You can barely make out the background music but the speech is fine. The movie itself was definately interesting to me. There is however anywhere from 20-40 minutes missing from this flick so unless you are just dying to see this, wait for a better copy (i.e. a Telesync or Screener). We do appreciate the effort though POT. But you had better tell your camera man to wise up and watch his azz. LOL
