Looks good... I am personally pleased to see all these *untouched* video releases. There has been quite a few of them lately too! 10 for video because it's untouched and 10 for the DVD-R release.
IMO 10 is a bit high for the DVD release. Why? DVD Decrypter (latest version 3.2.3.0) says that the image still has RCE protection on it. I mounted the image with Daemon Tools and DVD Decrypter came up with a menu asking me to select a region for the image. I've now run the image through DVD Decrypter in File mode to remove the protection.
Some users on other boards have said there there is no default sound and that they've had to select it from the menu before they get any. Could the RCE protection be the reason why they're having problems? Worth a try removing the RCE protection I suppose.
Just checked the IFOs. VTS_06_0.IFO has a layer break at Chapter 19, Cell 21 (the scene where she asks for Razzles and they go to a shop late at night for some. 1 hr 5 mins 56 secs). Has anyone had the movie pause for half a second during or around here? There's a way of removing it. A guy called 2COOL on doom9 has a method. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46201
I've now finished tidying this up. I've left the blue rating warning screen but jumped the FBI and horrible looking commentary warnings (VTS_27) using 2COOL's 'changing the Pre commands' method. IMPORTANT - learn this technique - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50245
Using MenuEdit I've removed some non working buttons from the 'Special Features' section which caused IFoEdit to stop if they were selected. Layer break removed (see above). New image made using IMGTool Classic. It complained that some VOBs were missing but I told it to make the image regardless. New ISO image burned using DVD Decrypter with verify on.
Plays with no sound problems in a UK Region 2 Sony DVP-NS305 (no region free hack applied to machine). I've played the 'Razzles' scene (see above) to check if there is a layer break pause and there is none with my copy. I didn't burn the original image so I don't know if it paused. The IFO suggested it would though. Can anyone confirm?
I now check every release before burning. Groups are now churning out releases and not checking them. I also jump trailers and warnings (except rating screens which serve an actual purpose).
actually i just watched it today, yes there is a pause. damn though dude, that seems like a lot of work for nothing, who cares anyway, its just a backup. i mean seriously..
anyway nice job ctp

It wasn't a lot of work really. It took me longer to type what I did than to do the corrections!
I enjoy looking around DVDs so it wasn't all for nothing, just for fun.
I'm a noob and have only been doing IFoEditing for a few months. I learn more and get faster with every release I look around. This one to me seemed very rushed (how did they miss not removing the RCE protection?) and I just thought I would inform people of my findings.
I agree, it is just a backup. For me it's just nice to know that with my new "master" backup, I have eliminated any errors and any future backups I do will be problem free too (I won't be replicating the errors
).
This isn't out in UK cinemas until 6th August 2004. US Region 1 DVD release date is 3rd August 2004. http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=11665
Thanks for confirming the layer break pause.
