Can anyone confirm the "never-before seen beginning and
Û the complete alternate ending you couldn't see in theaters or on DVD!" ?

Saw this nuked on nforce so im hesitating...

I see NForce nuke good releases all the time and yet post bad ones or dupes, LOL. This on a weekly basis.

Read the SVCD nfo, it's definatly extended (just up nforces @$$) ROFL.

well, the XPD nfo says that they had to edit it manually to add those extra scenes , as they were located in an separate vobset. actually i'm not quite sure if ALLiANCE did it the same way, or if they've ripped it straight through.

so, can anyone confirm if the xvid(!) one really is the extended edition?

Posted by DarkkDiablo on 07-15-2004 08:09 PM:

ive never seen the first movie, and only downloaded it because the commercial for the 2nd movie looks good.

the avi's on this release are 1:01 and 1:03. so if that helps anyone to figure out if its really extended or not.

i havent watched the entire release, but while scanning thru the files, i noticed some parts of the video were very clear, and some were fuzzy. Is this supposed to happen? or maybe this is the additional footage added, and its fuzzy because it came from a vault somewhere.

Just a thought.

/edit
just finished watching the entire release.
(possible spoilers, i guess)

the first 5 minutes and the last 10 or so minutes of the movie have that 'fuzzy' video as i mentioned earlier.

it begins with bourne on an island, next to the ocean, and he buys a drink, which turns out to be drugged. then the video goes clear, as the fisherman finds him floating.

at the end of the movie, that head CIA guy is shot in the alley. the video then goes fuzzy again. bourne wakes up on that same island, in a room with the elderly CIA agent, with the white hair (sorry, but i forget their names). bourne then goes down to the water, and meets the woman who originally gave him that ride to paris.

the end music plays, then it abruptly changes to a clearer shot, zooming out of the island, with different music. then credits.

so if those opening and closing parts of the movie are different from the theatrical cut, than this is, indeed the extended version.

That's extended, the original release started with him in the ocean being found by fisherman, then in the end you just see him meething the woman on a island, that's all I can remember for now, I don't think the guy from the Cia dies, I don't know now, but that thing with the drink in the beginning and room in the end, never happened for the original dcn release

Ok, I know nobody ever reads the DIVX section threads, but I feel it's my duty to tell people ...

DO NOT WATCH THIS RELEASE EVEN IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!

This thing is the single shittiest scene DivX encode I have ever seen. I simply don't understand why this wasn't nuked to all hell. I've downloaded some good stuff from ALLiANCE in the past ... this is decidedly not good stuff.

Aside from the extended intro and ending, which are of TS quality (not ALLiANCE's fault), the video is choppy throughout the whole movie. Every time there's any motion on the screen, the objects in frame will jerk back and forward erratically. This makes people's heads appear to be in two places at the same time, and makes speeding cars look like they're suddenly being thrown into reverse.

I watch a lot of DivX, and I'm used to seeing bad encoding, but this was ridiculous.

DON'T download this release ... get the SVCD or the DVDR instead.

3/9/9

damnit.. i had to see for myself.

i agree, this is the worst encode i've seen in a loooong time.

ppl, save your bw!

Weird. That start and ending make for a totally different film, plus the plot as it moves through, doesn't allow for those 2 things to happen anyway.

Huh?

Between you and the release groups not understanding those scenes, I'm starting to lose faith in the human intellect altogether.

******* SPOILERS HERE *******

The beginning of the movie and the end of the movie both happen months after the middle of the movie.

In the opening scene, Bourne has apparently been trying to track down what's-her-name, and that search apparently leads him to this small town (in southern France, maybe?). But the whole town's citizenry has been replaced by CIA agents, who manage to drug him.

He wakes up a few hours later (at the end of the movie) and the CIA tells him that they want him to come work for them again. But he's only interested in finding the girl, so he leaves and does that.

Ta-da! It's not that difficult to follow.

I think horizonstar is talking about the sequel "The Bourne Supremacy".

I saw a few minutes of cd2 and noticed border distortion, I think it was on the top and bottom, and seeing reviews here I'll pass on this one.

Posted by snausage on 08-30-2004 05:04 PM:

This seems like a sneaky spoiler which I thought was for Identity but might be for Supremacy and I'm really pissed cause I haven't seen Supremacy.

Some googling calls the extra stuff "Bookends" and makes the whole movie a flashback so I guess it's a different start and finish so sorry for my paranoia.

Gotta hurry and see Supremacy.
