Another fine rls by maven. Building a good rep so far all above par rls's. Nice choice for the sample. Video looks great on a TV very detailed and only has minor visual ticks on very dark & light scenes on the PC. Audio is encoded well and sounds good even when very loud. From what I've seen so far the movie is kinda lame.

P.S. J3BUS get to the theater on tyme!

8.5/9/5

maVen doesn't need to give themselves a "good rep." They have VideoCD's source, and everyone knows that they were good, so obviously maVen is as well. They're foreign, so don't expect them to release the shit the minute it hits theaters. They need time to encode/film it very nicely/get the dts audio.

Anyways, nice release, movie looks just ok. Great sound on this one, pic is nice as always.

8/9/?

To your post below: They built a good rep on their first and second release, and thanks for editing your post with my audio/video ratings after i posted/reposted - but then changed after viewing some of cd1 !

Posted by Phi on 08-23-2004 07:24 AM:

All grps need to prove themselves and source alone doesnt make the grp. As for the rest ty for stating the obvious like your in the know

LOL Yes I stole your ratings... get over yourself :P

Seems to be a slight flicker, no big deal though. From what little dialog there was, audio is as good as it gets. Not expecting to be entertained much from this movie, but you never know. Will rate movie after watching whole thing.

Well, it's obviously not "VideoCD's source" any mo'. Thanks, maVen, for taking the time to do it right. The chef may be great, but if the waitress trips and splatters the food all over your date, it don't mean a whole lot, you know what I'm saying....

Does this movie have any important subtitles that would be in french in this release.

No subtitles of major significance that I can remember from the Theater release. There are a couple African lines uttered, but they weren't meant to be subtitled. Other than that, I think there's an initial scene setup that may be in French.

decent release, from cd1 it is bad when m.f'ers take forever to sit down like they had to clean the seat out first or something. overall decent release..no complaints otherwise..

8/8/2 movie was shit didn't even get interesting until like the last 7 mins and even it was stupid...the original rules can't replace that.

Video-8
Sound-9 It's DTS and crystal clear
Movie-8 Saw it Saturday night and I enjoyed it and thought it was decent. Of course it wasn't has good as the original classic.

Was a bitch to get in. The movie's R and I'm 16. To get around this I just order the tickets online. The machine was down so I had to go to customer service and have the guy print out the tickets. Guy prints it out and won't give the tickets to me and my friend cause we don't have ID cause we're not 17 yet. Happened twice before with Dawn of the Dead and Troy (but with Troy the guy at the door didn't let us in cause he has a grudge with one of my friends and he was letting people in younger than us too). God damn AMC. I turn 17 in a couple a months and shit like this still happens. I can get in Fight Club when I'm in the 6th grade without a parent but I'm 16 and in the 11th grade and can't get in a movie. Plus I don't do gay shit during the movie. Hell if my friends start talking loud during a movie I tell them to STFU. Anyway my friend's sister was going to see it at another theater so he called her and we just met up with her. Movie starts at 8:05. We get there at 7:45. She doesn't get there until 8:05. By the time we got it me missed probably about a minute of it.
