DVD-Recorder

ok im looking for a dvd recorder (dvd-r is a must, dvd+r whatever), pal (but plays ntsc). some options without a hdd and some with would be nice, just to see if its worth the extra money. also please only ones that are available in UK/Europe. only one ive seen which was reasonably price was on svp for £180, no hdd. but im ignorant when it comes to dvd recorders, i guess someone here wont be.

thanks for any help you might give.

My best advice is to avoid Philips DVD recorders. I bought a Philips 880 about 18 months ago, it broke twice during warranty (so they replaced it) the replacement lasted just until outside the warranty period and that failed in exactly the same way... I've since decided to buy another (or build a media PC) but it won't be a Philips.

Oh, and the Philips 880 is DVD+R only which makes my entire post redundant, so I'll shut up.
