Damn good start for a "new" group.
Anyhow, great movie I rather enjoyed it.
9/9/8

EDIT:
Okay I've decided that this group needs to learn a few things first...

Heh actually they left a 420MB VOB with trailers intact and left 100mb of free space.
All of this could have been properly used for deleted scenes/Dir commentary, etc.

I WAS going to burn this, but becuase of the wasted space its only getting a DVD-RW.
I hate it when groups don't know what the fuck they're doing...*sigh*

P.S. Avalon STFU, its untouched... You obviously haven't ripped many DVD-9's.
Usually you can strip all the extras and the movie can still remain untouched, especially with Paramont films.

Ok let me correct a few things.

1) It's spelled release.
2) It's untouched video so it gets a 10.
3) It's got 5.1 audio so it gets a 10 as well.
4) It's spelled It's not It`s
5) There is nothing wrong with this release. Couldn't be anymore perfect

Some ppl just dont know how to rate a movie, if its untouched it has to be a 10 ffs.

10 / 10 / 9

I agree with you on some points, but i dont think that all untouched releases should get a 10, what would be the point in voting, just read the nfo, if its untouched 5.1, then its a 10/10.

I know if the original DVD is shit looking or sounding that its not the groups fault, but we should still rate the picture and sound as it is, rather than if its untouched or not, i have many original DVD's that would only get a 8/9.

Sorry for the rant, but its just something thats bugged me.

As for this

10/9/8

Great picture, sound and a surprsingly good movie

Ok, let me correct you.. firstly this IS touched. This dvd is re-encoded from a DVD9 to fit a DVDR = Surly compressed to fit it = Touched. (where i know this?? i just know.. same goes for farenheit911) and if you dont belive me then check the asian market

Why do you think there`s no extras or anything? Cause there never where any on the DVD9. Eitherway this is a NICE release and im not complaining Just "correcting" (sorry to use your words..hehe)

Have a nice day..

Have you ever ripped a DVD9 to a DVD5, the original dvd does have extras

Commentary By Director Mark Waters, Screenwriter & Actress Tina Fey and Producer Lorne Michaels
Three Featurettes
Blooper Reel
Deleted Scenes
Theatrical Trailer

Plus they also removed the other two audio tracks, so i imagine this easily fits, its mostlly 2+ hours films that need re-encdoing.

Also i agree with Disillusion, i would of liked the extra space to be used on the commentary or maybe deleted scenes.

If the nfo says the video is untouched it means it was not compressed. they don't just use dvd shrink and compress the whole thing to 4.7gb ok. they remove the extras, extra language tracks, and then if it still doesn't fit(usually movies over 2 hours) they'll re-encode it with cce (hopefully). i know everyone here know this but i get pissed off when someone tries to "correct" someone without knowing what they're talking about.

about the release been waiting it for a long time. those girls are so hot and the movie was actually one of the better ones from this year. it wasn't the usual teeny bopper crap i was expecting.

Actually even with a Retail DVD there can be compression, artifacting, halos, etc..Nothing gets a perfect ten..9.5 is the very highest and thats being generous even for anal retentive ppl like DVDfile that do reviews for a living..End Comment..

Same Bullshit..No movie deserves a perfect 10..It depends on the source..I hope we have cleared up this lil confusion..And for god sake's who cares..I don't normally rate dvdr..No reason People..If video is untouched its the best you are going to get..Take it or leave it..and for those that missed my earlier post:

Way to triple post, there.

Anyway, people do have different opinions. People can rate a ten for video if they want to; the mods just don't want to see people rating movies based solely on the release group, and not the quality.

Posted by eugenile on 10-03-2004 09:09 PM:

just finished watching this release..

the video seems untouched.. and the audio has not been resampled or edited in anyway.. i base my rating on the VIDEO and AUDIO quality.. isnt that the most important part of the "movie" and the "quality" of the release anyways..

so with that in mind i give the a/v a 10..

the only thing that i would lower the overal rating is that it wouldve been nice to keep the deleted scenes.. i could care less about the original authoring of the menus in tact.. i feel the "content" is more important.. but thats just me.. great release. i dont know how some could give the audio/video anyhting lower than a 10 when it hasnt been touched.. esp if your just watching this on a small picture tube or computer monitor..

56" 16:9 DLP HDTV and harmon kardon 6.1 surround sound system.. as my test unit..

great job to the group
