after reading the nfo, looking at the screenshots, comparing the samples and the burned discs in my standalone hdtv ---

replica is 100% right and i appreciate the rls.

kinda funny -- i got 3 burned dvdr's of this movie now. a Telecine with hollow DD 5.1 audio and a decent menu, a 'rental' region 4 one, and now the 'real' one.

Oh well, it was bound to happen. You knew you were taking a risk if you got the BURGER release. I'm just gonna get this for the menus and extras though as the BURGER release was quite shitty. Thanks Replica

I'm sure glad I didnt download it yet, too many complaints about the Burger release. Thanks Replica.

What is the big f-ing deal. If the video of burger release is the same as a retail dvdr, then it's a good dvdr

Posted by dos000 on 09-10-2004 01:06 AM:

Finally, yeah this release is perfect, I'll post some screenshots of the menu tomorrow.

Thats what i was thinking, Rental DVD's are the same quality as Retail, well they are in the UK anyway.

Posted by kwyjibo on 09-10-2004 01:21 AM:

Yeah the video and sound quality of Burger was top notch. Its a keeper. Who gives a toss about the deleted scenes and extras. If I wanted all that crap I'd buy the dvd.

Posted by dos000 on 09-10-2004 03:55 AM:

Yeah, but people who are coolest enjoy the movie with the menu and extra's.

Posted by vip3r on 09-10-2004 05:25 AM:

Oh by the way .. the BURGER release was r4 retail .. this is r1 retail .. posted about this ages ago on a diff thread and it looks as if i have to post again

and well, don't you get dvds for the fuckin menus and extras? i mean atleast for the menus..i sure dont want some crappy homemade one, i could do better than that

Posted by kid606 on 09-10-2004 10:37 AM:

The burger release didnt have a "homemade" menu, it was a legit 20th century fox rental dvd menu..

Posted by Madmax on 09-10-2004 02:32 PM:

This release came 4 months too late, the TC was fine and i didnt even watch the whole movie, once is enough!!

Posted by [SR] on 09-10-2004 06:54 PM:

I dont know about you but i sure as hell dont get DVDs for the menus. I get them for the great sound/picture quality, and in a few cases the extras but not very often as most extras are shit.

Posted by al_gee on 09-11-2004 07:58 PM:

Once again..I have watched the BURGER release twice and the source .vob is the retail...Anyhow..This is the real retail with the proper menu..the only difference i noticed is this one has the correct menu..Not just a stationary 20th century Fox back drop...The Video and Audio were fine on both rls..This one just has the extras if u care..Once again, vip3r telling someone there rls is shit..I'm amazed u have any axx at ll..Think U can do better tough guy..LOL...Start ripping your OWN FUCKING MOVIES u loser...And Yes I know how do DO IT SO FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!

Posted by dos000 on 09-13-2004 12:35 PM:

yeah, preach on brother, this is a much better release, but the BURGER release wasn't shit at all, but this is nicer, with menus and such.

Maybe vip3r is just pissed cos he's got a shite connection or limited bandwidth

i personalyl get DVD-Rs (instead of SVCDs now) for the better quality in both audio and video for visual and auditory eye candy for my hdtv and 6.1 sound system.. i get "real" DVDs for the extras.. but since i dont care about the extras.. that doesnt apply.. and id get the real one if there is too much compression done to affect the video quality to fit on a single layer DVD-R.. but menus.. come on now..

if it was me.. id put just the main movie on there.. 1 audio track and 1 english sub.. no menus no nothing else.. thats what i usually do with backups i make myself.. more room for the main movie to retain its quality. all the other stuff doesnt matter.. and if it did.. which leads me back to wat i said earlier.. by the real thing..

just my .02
