Ok video, good sound.

6.5/7.5/x (gone wait for abetter rls.)

Posted by MarketMakerz on 09-20-2004 11:47 AM:

can somebody explain this to me: let's say 2 individual ppl...get the same source silver , the discs are exactly the same; now they both rip/encode it (presumably they would use slightly different techniques-settings), but assume they even used the exact same app and settings.
Would it be possible for pixel(lego) blocks to occur at the exact same places in the video, in numerous places throught the video?
bcz i just watched Sky.Captain.And.The.World.Of.Tomorrow.READNFO.TS-fbC and Sky.Captain.And.The.World.Of.Tomorrow.iNTERNAL.CAM-POT
Both have the exact same pixel blocks in the exact same locations, and I'm not talking about 'same chase scene both get pixely'. Every scene, millimeter by millimeter...same lego blocks.
( i ran it in 1/10th speed...blocks are identical)
Looks like only thing fbC did was take POT's source, darken up the brightness level, and slap on their direct ts audio.
Yeah; fbc pred a .vob sample with their rls(so somehow they got a cut of an original disc); however they may have done that after the rls was encoded, and rared up. I cant think of any method that could occur...which would cause 2 different ppl to rls the same movie....and the pixel blocks occur at the exact same locations.

Anyway...overall, it is too dark to be enjoyable, bcz the added extra darkness dims out the scenes when they zoom in on notes/letters that ppl are reading. Virtually every scene has the legos(as does POT's),but they dont freeze-up, so thats nice. Sound is nice and enjoyable.

Video does look a bit crappy on monitor, But when I burned Sample to disk and played on TV it looks fine, Audio is V.good from sample, sounds excellent in surround sound.
Video 7 (good for VCD, SVCD Would be better)
Audio 9 (Only True 5.1 surround could better it.)
Movie ?

couldn't there be pixelation on the silver/PDVD that both groups used?

Posted by TitoSpanican on 09-20-2004 01:26 PM:

Video don't look too bad to me, audio is pretty good.

6/8/ Didn't bother finishing, damned short attention span

Audio is great, no complaints there... the video is a little blurred, making it hard to see some of the more dark scenes.{rett cut and dry, I think it's wort the download.
5.5/7/?

That's my thinking. Honestly, do you think fbC would go through all the trouble of writing a lengthy (and very well done) nfo explaining how the "misunderstanding" happened, if they were nothing more than a bunch of thieves ripping other groups off? No way.

Considering that they were accused of something they didn't do-- and nuked on this very site as having used a "stolen source," I thought they showed an incredible level of restraint and maturity in their response.

Remember this rule of thumb: guilty people get VERY angry, loud and indignant when accused of something they did. Innocent people do not-- they try to explain their innocence, usually at length. It's a rule of thumb that works every time!

Sure, the silver I got at a flea market, (which is the same source as these) has same pixelation. POT and FBC use these for video, as the audio is usually quite bad on these disks. Tho when they are labeled CAMs, then usually theyre using the crap audio right from the disk (yuk).

So which one is it?

It is better if you put it on a TV, and not watch it on your monitor, still a little blurry when it comes to the scenes where there is a lot of white, maybe over brightness, who knows? Anywho .. decent job fbC, practice makes perfect.

7/8/7 (too much hype on the film)

Posted by mIRC on 09-20-2004 02:57 PM:

First of all , this is the exact same silver as POT. Second , POT had the right idea by iNTERNAL'n this copy as its not very watchable copy. I just tried watching CD1 .. after 10 mins & Skimming through the rest.

Picture is super super super dark. The left side , top & bottom of screen are blurred out by black lines from the camera. The Picture has like a strobe flickering, dark to light , dark to light. This copy has no color what so ever too it , major washed. Glitches on CD1 (goes blocky and major pixelated for a few seconds) a few times just like their Mr. 3000. The Only thing good on this copy is the sound, but what good is sound if you cant see the picture.

fbC shoulda used their heads and kept this iNTERNAL also ... but from looks of their nfo they needed a quick release to cry at other grps lol.

If you really want to see this movie , avoid this release, seriously go to the theater and watch it or wait for an SVCD TS or Screener.

This Copy is one of the worst Telesync's i have ever seen.

Avoid - Unwatchable

2/8/?

I will def pass on this one

3/7

Posted by Hurr on 09-20-2004 04:40 PM:

All I have to say is wow... and not a in a good way.

When I see the word Telesync attached to a release I expect..well..I dunno what I expect but jeeze.. my expectations have successfully been lowered even farther than before. This might have been a mint TS a few years ago.

fbC, you did the entire world a service by not making this an svcd, everyone including me thanks you for that.

I watched a few rars and I feel like I might as well have washed my eyes with battery acid because I would be able to see just as much either way

WTH is the point of a DTS track if you can't see the movie?

Avoid this release at all costs unless you don't care about seeing everything and your imagination is good enough to add video in your mind to the audio track. If you really need to see this movie and nobody releases a better copy then watch this one I guess for the DTS sound source. Either that or pay to see it (gasp!) like I did. This movie is worth the price of admission, especially if you go to a matinee show.

I will be fair though and say that the sound is great, but please work on a better cam source. These silvers are horrible

2/8/8 (I saw this movie in the theatres on Saturday afternoon and loved it. If you like "oldschool futuristic" than this is the movie for you to watch. Movie starts out kind of shitty but gets better.)

P.S. Sucks about all the drama, hope you guys and gals all get everything worked out.

EDIT: Just to clarify my low score a little more, fbc-scwt2.r04 was one of the rars I watched. In this 1 min 25 sec chunk of the movie I realized that in this copy Asian people look black because of how dark the movie is and that the paradise that they happen to be in looks like Hell. There were artifacts and blocks and glitches all over the screen every few seconds as well. Is it just me or is everything really blurry as well?

Posted by nicam on 09-20-2004 05:06 PM:

very very dark and grainy sound is ok though would give this 4/7/? iam going to wait and see this at the cinema when it arrives in the uk or at least until a quality svcd comes out movie looks great

Posted by soeazy2004 on 09-20-2004 05:08 PM:

5/7/7

Video not as good as a telesync could be. It's watchable though. Audio is pretty good, but again not the best.
The movie was good enough to waste an hour or two.

Posted by AddNtoX on 09-20-2004 06:30 PM:

i'm seeing this nuked for serious sync issues
