scrolling water marks

i have just noticed when my dvd player ison even when no disk is playing i am getting a scrolling water mark from right to left i can make out the navida symbol (or how ever you spell it for the new sony range of computers i t also displays day sunday and year 2002 cannot quite read rest yet i have cyberhome 528 but you
can notice this watermark when machine has vcd playing and after you take it out i have nortons system pro 2002 and ad-aware on pc but i never looked close at it been there for a while
any ideas or have any of you had simular problem
