DVD Burning (playback)

I have burnt some dvd,s seem to play ok first couple of times then
they stop and start and pixelate i have been told that if i burn disk
at 1x this might sort problem out because the outer edge of some disk can be dodgy can anyone tell if this is the case or should i just buy expensive dvds

I hear people saying to burn at low speeds all the time and personally I've never had a problem burning at the speed the CD/DVD is rated at. It might be your choice of blank though, Datawrite Grey are cheap and decent, try those.

I have recently had this exactly the same problem. I have asked a few forums & most of them say change your media to branded names... But this NOT always the case.... I bought these philips dvd-r 8x discs & burning at 8x screws up, so now I burn at x4 & it works a treat. I then bought these cheap ass ritek discs & they also work fine.... even at 8x burning.

What I suggest you do is to try different media, and someday you will find the one thats compatible with your burner.

By the way.... Go to the manufacturers site of ya burner & try updating your firmware... This helps ALOT !!!

hit up meritline and order the Ritek G04 4x DVD-R 25pack for like $15....but actually you get Ritek M02, which are still good for the price.

I had heard this for a very long time before I believed it myself. I can make a fullspeed burned (40x) (S)VCD that will play on any computer, but my standalone player gets pissy on anything I burn over 16x.
Try any of these suggestions and you'll get some better results.
