-- Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow *PAL* - DVD SCR - TEG-DVD (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=50752)
NUKED: pal...
An odd reason, but be fair, its NOT labeled as such..basically nothing wrong with it other than some sites dont allow pal
hmmm... no menus, may aswell just get the svcd

do dvd scrn usually have menus??
First of all ... PAL/NTSC has nothing to do with quality ... just FPS. So whoever said that PAL was better quality than NTSC releases, needs to check their eyes again.
Second of all ... no, usually DVDSCR do NOT have menus, no need for them really, as there are no extras on the screener discs. Meant to play on repeat all day at blockbuster (or other respective rental joints).
Decent Quality ... will wait for the retail DVDR so I can file this one away on my shelves. Good movie, worth watching once every 3 to 4 years. Nice Release TEG-DVD.
PAL
Since PAL has more lines of resolution than NTSC, yeah, the quality is better.
quality was good i'll probly download the svcd though dont wanna waste a dvdr till the r1 retail
8/9/7
How you can have around 200 posts to this forum and not know PAL has a higher resolution (and therefore better picture) than NTSC is beyond me...

its a tradeoff ntsc has slightly higher fraps pal has slightly higher resolution.. i dont think either is really better than the other. However i live in the US and my pioneer dvd player does not play pal. i think the nuke is for not putting it in the rls name. At any rate this retails in like a month or 2 anywyas.. late dvdscr. im jsut ognna wait a few weeks for a R1 retail dvdr

Thanks. I thought I was the only one who ended up with bad sound. Funny how the video looks so good but the sound is so scratchy.

Yeah, and menus are the only reason DVD's are better than SVCD's.
The higher resolution, higher bitrate, and 5.1 sound dont make a difference.
As for the Nuke for being PAL, first Ive heard it, crazy if it is, as most of the time PAL is better quality.
This is nice for a screener, could be easily passed a DVD-Rip, sound is great too.
9/9/?
verry nice
Dolby Digital 5.1 448Kbps
no trailers at the start
zipped from start to finish at 32x and didnt see any B&W or water marks.
no Tickers (property of etc etc)
so yes, as was said above it could pass as retail.
with no menus or extras ofcorse
more dvd screeners like this plz
PS i only ever noticed the FPS pal v ntsc thing back when playing Tekken on the PS1.
ntsc was faster naturly.
but as for movies i dont notice it now.
with progressive scan and all the knobs n wistles now days it dont make a diffrence to me.

9 / 5 / ?
absolutely BEAUTIFUL picture quality
audio doesn't actually seem to be in 5.1 channels - I did a quick scan through the movie (that's right, there's NO CHAPTER STOPS) and was getting nothing out of left/right/surrounds. and yes, there's a high pitched whine in the background throughout the whole film (which can be EQ'd out - with some compromise to the dialogue quality).
good enough to watch, but far from perfect audio takes this off the "must get" list.
