The best CDR choice

Is their any particular brand that is most used for burning at max speed and still dont get any errors toward the end of a svcd release? thnx

not really, cheaper the better i think lol

i use some crap called RiData i burn them at 52x, they come in packs of 100 for like $21 canadian!

Thanks for the response. Do you have a problem with your svcds towards the end of the disc? I know if I burn them slow they usually dont freeze. I was wodering if a certain brand can burn at max speeds say 52x and not have any problem towards the end of the disc? thnx again

I'm too much of a pussy to burn above 4x for myself (made a differenece on Centropy releases on my APEX players). But I usually use whatever is free from work.

I only ever buy datasafe media...it's cheap enough and I've never had any problems with playback even though I never burn slower than max

They're somewhat expensive, but I've never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever had a burning error with a disc, no matter how fast I've burned. No FujiFilm coasters in my house. There are often huge sales on them at various internet stores.

I also like Memorex discs, which are somewhat less expensive but usually yield 1-2 coasters per 50x spindle.

Hell, I use the unlabelled, blank cdrs that come in a pack of 100 for $10, and never have any problems with them, even burining at 48x. I guess I lucked out with my burner and stand alone player.

ive only come across one brand of cd-rs that sucked ass...dun remember what they called tho, but i bought i 200pack of cdrs for $20 and not one failed for anything

I had problems with Maxell CD-Rs at one time, but it depends more on the laser in your standalone player than what speed you burn them at.

I'd still recommend burning at low speeds though if you want the best quality; SVCD has less margin for error correction than a data CD, so something burned at high speed is more likely to result in small errors creeping into the video, visible as picture noise.

I always burn my video DVD+Rs at 2.4x, even though my burner can do 8x.

If you live in England, Mr DVD are stupidly cheap.

They do do CDs aswell.

Sigma are cheap also.

Experiment and find out what works best with your hardware/software configuration. But, use basic consumerism as well.
I go with Memorex 80min 52x'ers.
Yeah, you get some coasters, but I usually need a new coaster by the time I make one.

My burner doesn't feel comfortable above 40x, but it will burn perfect data discs. I get probs with fast burns and playing them on a standalone DVD player, tho. So I burn VCD/SVCD @ 16x.

Memorex is a good brand but I was looking for something that you could burn at max speed (i.e 52x and eliminate the freezing at the end of a svcd when played on my stand alone.) That seems impossible though
