download speed
Hi, Im just starting to use news groups and im using the xnews prgram but im only getting a 10kbs speed when downloading headers or decoding files. I am on a cable connection and using a router. Is there any ports i should open to get a faster speed?
I did a speed test at dslreports and it shows me at 2.0 mbs so i think i should be getting a faster speed on usenet
my suggestion...do u really need the router?

Might be your ISP. I know plusnet put a cap on port 119 recently so it ran at about 10kb/sec for some users.

My rating is based on a TS..not camparing it to anyother type of release.. e.g. cam,dvd rip, screener, etc... -Quote by Naught1
