Question regarding Tmpgenc

Okay i am using Tmpgenc, and some times only on certain movies the movie lags. I check to see if it was like that before, and it wasnt. It happens when Tmpgenc changes it to a DVD file. Why does this happen, and how do you fix it. Also what is another good dvd author to use.

What version are you using? What format are you converting from? Does it do it on your pc and stand alone, or one and not the other? We need more info, son, before we can help you out, but if I was to take a shot in the dark, it's either your version, enviromental settings, or even media, but we need to know more before we can help you out.

Okay, I am converting AVI files to Mpg 2 files. I have tried to use WinAvi Video converter and Main Concept Mpeg Encoder. Got the same result on both of them. My Tmpgenc is Version 1.6, with environmental settings set at Create a sub folder, and it says it cannot find the dolby digital AC-3 encoder. Could that be the problem, I am gonna try downloading the plugin, i just realized that. If some could help me out it would be great thanx! Oh ya my machine is a Gateway with a 1.8 GHZ Celeron with 512 MB of Ram .

I noticed this also... But in the cases *I* saw... The lag really wasn't there! TMPGEnc works just fine if it doesn't hiccup on a bad frame and lock up. DO NOT use Windows Media player to watch your DVD MPEG2 files! Get a software DVD player (such as WinDVD or Power DVD)... If you play your converted files with one of those, your lag and interlace artifacts will disappear.

PS... You can always burn them and play them on a hardware player too...
