ok well my problem is that i have burned off my movie Harold.And.Kumar.Go.To.White.Castle.COMPLETE.PAL.DVDR-SuperHero and when i goto watch it in my dvd player it doesnt work it just scrambles around in black and white and the scenes just flicker up and down and i cant watch it... someone told me its cause its a PAL movie and i got a ntsc dvd player?? i guess thats what the problem is... anyways does anyone know how to convert a movie from PAL to ntsc so i can watch it in my dvd player thanks.
buy a better DVD player...in the long end it's so much more easy.
buy the Philips dvp642:
.: DivX/XviD
.: (S)VCD
.: (DVD)MP3
.: PAL/NTSC
.: Region Free
.: $70! w00t w00t

yes, its because its pal. buying a different dvd player wont make any difference unless it has the ability to convert pal50>ntsc60 on the fly, so ignore those comments. if you had a multisync tv (one capable of both pal/ntsc display) you wouldn't have this problem, but still loads of tv's in america will not accept a 50hz signal. i have no idea why, virtually every tv in europe has been multisync for years and years now.
you'll have to watch it on the pc, or convert it by hand, or download the ntsc version instead.

There is an easy way round this without buying a new DVD PLAYER .... if you install "Anydvd" from Slysoft (you can download a trial from their site) you can then copy any dvd you have and turn the copy into "all regions + codes" so making it compatible with whatever you like.
Its not to dear to buy or look for a crack version .... works with nero too allowing u to copy rentals as well
good luck.
If u mean by taking the region code of the disk, it won't have one. Plus this has nothing to do with it being Pal or ntsc.
Converting from one format to another is very tricky in my experience, you'll still never get it perfect. Your best bet is just to leave it as Pal and try to get a cheap DVD player that plays everything you can throw at it. [ Like the others said ].
Go to videohelp.com and look up the region hack for your paticular dvd player,(usually simply done by remote control)then you can watch any dvd, be it PAL or NTSC.
