Are there any noticeable differences between this and SCREAM's release? IE: Menus, better video quality etc.. ?

Posted by emulator on 01-02-2005 03:30 PM:

oh my god, why this movie again? they're both R1 so im assuming everythings exactly the same, i have a 42" plasma , i've watched screams version with 6pass CCE it was JUST fine, looked great to me, this is 9PASSCCE but so what, in my book NUKE: DUPE! or DVD OUT!
ps: not looking for trouble , just stating my thoughts
i do respect corrupt though cuz of their excellent releases, lots of untouched quality but this is plain redundant

The only difference with this and screams release is 3 more passes in CCE basically, i thought they could have at least kept a bit of the special features the new intro for example.

9/9/5

this one has a play extended version button
it shows something new at the begining, dont know about the rest of the movie

I dont think Screams was region 1, i thought that was region 3

if so then the menu will probs be different

Uhm, no one ever nukes other groups (cough BHP) when they do R1 retails, some people perfer R1, not an R4 rental dvd. And there is a difference, trasnfer could be different, defenitley menus, subtitles, and according to a previous poster in this thread, there is an alternate beginning.

anyway..:

Alright. This is really going to probably go down to "what is good enough" for certain people.

This release is (IMO) the best release. I do enjoy an R3 retail as much as a R1 retail (in many cases so far), so I am not just riding the R1 wagon.

Scream lied in their NFO obviously. 6390kbit/sec video?!?! Bullshit. That's 4.6gigs of video even before sound or menu is added. I also was not impressed with their brief "DVD Retail" without mentioning the region.

This release also has the "extended version" option. Now, if that button works properly, I dunno (as I am not a huge fan and really didn't watch anything other than the regular version). But to be fair, I am not happy that Corrupt didn't mention the bitrate of their release.

Glad to see this release though. And Corrupt's FIRST encode job looked pretty good. Hope to see more.

:: EDIT ::

OK... I just found out that I don't have the damn CORRuPT version. Anybody know who else released this movie in the past week?!?! It got nuked off the site I got it from and I no longer have the NFO. It seems to be a "ghost" release. I can't find it anywhere (including the Corrupt version to verify)...

:: EDIT ::

Shed some light on this. Looks like a fucked up Scream version with custom menus. Judging that I cannot find this release ANYWHERE might indicate this release was fake?!?!

actually ill take it back, if this definitely has ext version, i guess its good, not trying to start a debate, ill give this a shot myself

It is NUKED for being a DUPE of Screams Release, but it seems unfair as in there is NO way that the Alien VS Predator was a Retail DVDR. I believe it was a Rental like Day after Tomorrow b4 the Retail which oddly enough NEver got NUKED. This is the True NTSC R1 retail. 3 Weeks PRE Retail. I have a feeling Scream may get a Late NUKE on this one and Corrupt will win. We will just have to wait and see!!

9/9/6 Movie Sucked So bad I can't believe it

Posted by Pedro14 on 01-03-2005 03:18 AM:

Can someone please explain exactly what 'extended' features this contains?. Thank you.

Posted by chiv on 01-03-2005 10:15 AM:

by features i assume you mean bonus stuff? there shouldn't be any, because their nfo says they ripped em out. apparently all this comes with, is a 'different' opening sequence (sounds like you can chose to view either the orignial theatrical cut, or this 'alternate' version...) im not sure what exactly is different about the new opening, but you can bet it wont make this movie go down any better

Posted by graham23s on 01-03-2005 12:06 PM:

The new intro should go like this :

***SPOILER ALERT***

A lengthy scene set in 1904 involving the Bouvetoya Island whaling station was cut. The sequence involved a group of whalers that discover an unopened Predator-pod in the snow and bring it back to the whaling station. The Predator later emerges from the pod and massacres the unsuspecting men. In the midst of the fray, a single whaler named Karl escapes, hiding in a field of whale bones. Frostbitten and tired, he later returns to the whaling station, where there is no longer any sign of the Predator. He finds his way into one of the wooden shacks, only to discover an Alien lying in wait. Before it can attack him, the Predator reappears and smacks Karl aside, breaking his ribs. Karl then dies from his injuries and the cold as the two creatures square off in the shack.

Cheers Graham

Scream release was not R3, R1, retail or rental. That is why this has been released. I thought scene rules state that release must be retail.

If anything Screams release should have been nuked for not being retail.

Posted by crapper on 01-03-2005 07:08 PM:

this one is more complete good quality..
the other is r3 or rental or whatever..
this one should have been a complete release..
it is not.,.

or they should have mentioned that this release is a special version..
or that this is the real retail and the other was rental

or this the real r1 and the other r3..

to keep it short..

a damm fine release..
but a damm incomplete nfo

nuke it..
well i think the sheeps been waiting to do so for a along time,..
it problable is already nuked..
cuase they nuke whatever they see

Posted by Agent Utah on 01-03-2005 07:13 PM:

Well, does this have the new scene at the beginning or not, can anyone confirm it. Otherwise, it's not worth getting.

Posted by porco556 on 01-05-2005 08:11 AM:

Alrighty... Does this release exist? I found out I have a custom version made from the Scream version, WHICH was not released by Corrupt.

Now, I am not be the most connected person in the scene, however, I cannot find this release anywhere with the resources that I have. Upon figuring this, I looked on NFOrce and noticed they don't have this release listed either (not saying that by itself indicates this release doesn't exist).

I even resorted to search engines and torrents!! Nothing nowhere.

This leaves me saying though, Screams video was pretty nice But they still did lie in their NFO. But the menus I've got are not the same as the initial release they did (custom jobby, but nice still).

Unhappy Issues with my DL :(

I can't seem to get my DL to work, it plays the Warnings, then stops. I tried IFO Edit to "fix" the ifo's but no luck. Am I doing something wrong? I tried various different players, all the same result.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
