The Aviator *PROPER* *SVCD* - DVD SCR - BiGSCREEN

Well AURA beat us on the svcd , respect, but their release is for this kind of movie too big . Because its aint a Action Movie who would deserv more than 3cds on this run time.

This amazes me... the movie is 10mins shy of 3hrs. But since it isn't an 'Action' movie, it doesn't deserve the quality that AURA gave us?

::edit: Nuked for size appropriately::

I read that as..

'damn we got beat.. um here's our piss poor excuse for
releasing it anyhow...'

since when does the type of movie dictate what quality is
acceptable.. perhaps if you're 12..

i'll stick with the very nice 4 cd release, something warranted
for a 3 hour movie.

loving the qual, and i prefer 3cds to 4...besides, let's say it's a flat 3 hours, 1 hour on each disc is still superb quality (provided it's done right)

the reason bigscreen did this was because this is a slow dramatic movie, if it was an action movie like lets say alexander....then it would need a higher bitrate other then 1900 because of the fight scenes(which you wouldnt want pixelated)

but since its a slow ass movie with shakey hands and barely any action at all it doesnt really need 2400bitrate because the movie will not lose much quality with 1900...i think thats what they mean anyway

NUKED and for good reason Unecessary PROPER of this fine film.

lame lame reason for proper, 4 CD's was alright, also BiGscreens release, had lower then standard bitrate. im amazed how much they get nuked.

anyway, its not bad, the other release was much nice in Vid quality, sound is fine , haven't watched the movie yet, will be doing that tonight!

I went for this one because not everyone has access to cable for the 4 cd version.
It's very nice and the movie was better than i thought it would be.

THANKS BIGSCREEN

This dvdscr has been released way too much now, I agree that the Tsunami divx crap needed to be propered but this is a useless rel.

Doesn't a proper have to IMPROVE on another releases quality? This seems more like a downgrade to me...

I guess I'm confused??? I thought we were supposed to rate the release itself. Even if this was nuked and wasn’t necessary shouldn’t we still be rating on the quality instead of who did what first. Who cares anyway? As for the rating, IMO The video was very good and the audio was great. The movie itself was a little better than I thought it was going to be. At any rate in the end I guess everyone has their own opinion. By the way please remember this was free. If you don’t like the quality all you have to do is hit the "delete key" and get another version.

Exactly what I was thinking. I converted this to DVD last night and I just finished watching it and the quality was excellent.

A 4 CD release for a 2+50 hr movie is one too many. A 3 CD release was needed. Like someone else said, just 1 CD more and you could’ve had the DVD release – lol. (This movie isn’t - Lord of the Rings.) A lot of us don’t have surround sound either, so all the extra space required for the AC3 sound is just taking up room that could’ve been used by the video.
