3 disc rips just dont like me - HELP!

Ok, the last 7 movies i have DL'd that were 3 discs, have all had a read error on the 3rd disc, and it doesnt have a cuefile. Oceans twelve for instance, didnt have a cue, or the last 45 seconds of the film, (granted i had to watch disc 3 in bin form with videolan)

I asked someone how to fix it, or what i wasnt doing, renaming, etc. They reccomended a program called quick sfv, which didnt help it at all. Now im sure there is something i need to rename, or maybe im just dl'ing from idiots that have all the screwed rip's.

PLease help! Tell me what to rename! Im so tired of finding out my flick's arent all there.

Sounds like thats it to me!

If you are missing a cue file then download cuemaker, Neversoft has posted it on here several times, try searching the forum

Check out the size of your copy of mvn-oc12ts03.bin (if it is the Maven release obvisouly), should be 782,334,000 bytes (right click-properties in xp)

Sounds like its a formatting problem... Luckily Windows comes with a utility to handle that...

format.com
(use the switches c: /q /v:{insert movie filename} )
Just answer Yes to all the prompts...

That will fix the problem.

I could be wrong tho...

quite positive, um format kills the drive you set it as not a file...i think you want del or the better deltree c: /y

:edit: Just to make certain that you understand... SFV checking programs only report if the file is corrupted or missing... they do nothing to FIX the problem. :/edit:

Sounds like either of two things have happened...

The archive (.rar) that you have downloaded is corrupt.

Compare your local file size to the origins. If you are able to extract the .rxx files, and there is a .sfv file provided... run the SFV checking program (I use Brad Smith's Easy SFV Creator) to see if there are any files that are corrupt. If that is the case, you will need to redownload only the .rxx file(s) shown as being corrupt.

The archive (.rar) that you have downloaded is missing files.

Pretty much the same fix as above. Your SFV proggie will tell you if files are missing. If so, fill only the missing files.

As for the .cue file, follow fatfecker's advice. (Never thought I'd say THAT!)

You could also grab a PAR2 file for CD3 and get that to check out all of the RAR's (if you are a usenet user they shouldn't be hard to find), if you are not downloading as RAR's and just downloading the CUEs and BINs then you are probably fucked.

I'm going to assume you're downloading .tar or .rar'd versions of releases.

The possible reason is you're likely using an old version of winrar or winzip. The file is exceeding the limit (2gb I think) so when you open it up, it's just cutting off at that point.

Upgrade winrar or winzip and give it another shot.
