MPTDVD is always R3, but i can't wait any longer and with a nuked SVCD DVDRip this is the only way to fly atm.

From the Sample a tad bright on the pic otherwise flawless pic and sound!!

8.5/9/Havent watched it yet, but it looks excellent

There's no info about this being R3. The menu doesn't include any asian subs either. However, it's missing the extended version!

i think it's R1 since it has french subs...
just like their vanity fair rel..
just my opinion

Hehe... It's 153 mins long, I think the extended edition would start making this movie look like a encode of Saving Private Ryan (Which just in case you didn't try, but at 9 pass CCE still looks like ass, movie only no menu). But I didn't know there was an extended edition, I check a few places and no mention of that.
::EDIT:: Ah, found the info on the extended edition. Looks like they are going to just include the deleted scenes into the movie (like X-Men did).

But to the other posts, it really might be an R1... The retail R1 is due February 1, which sounds about right for a DVD-R release.

::EDIT:: Just got this... I dunno, call it R2, R3 or R99, looks as good to me as R1. Only a 53 meg menu and the rest is movie... Menu is interlaced to hell, probably re-coded with force-film on in dgMPEGenc. That's my only real gripe. It's still only a 53meg play button.

Video 8/10 - Well... Crappy bitrate, but that's cuz this movie is LONG!! Watched an hour (was only planning on watching 2 mins), and looks good. With the extras on the retail, I bet this didn't get the best it deserved. Should have been a 2 disc edition as a standard. Unfortunately, the retail is 1 disc, or 2 disc limited edition (lame!!) which comes with regular edition plus some other shit disc. But as good of a job as we'll have.

DVD-R 10/10 - Well, aside from the menu probably being re-encoded (just a hunch), this is a nice job. Movie only, and that is needed for the 153 min movie.

Movie looks pretty cool... Too bad Ray is not around anymore to do a commentary track on it. That would have been damn amazing.

I'm getting the Replica rel to compare quality. I'm rather interested in the Extended scenes. There's no question the MPTDVD is R1... just look at languages and subs on the disc. I noticed the interlacing in the menu as well.

extended is only just going to look worse. i'll keep this one. but i noticed french subs came on automatically had to turn them off manualy.
