Counter in movies

hellow!
I've just downloaded a movie (Der Untergang)
but there's a huge counter on the left
it isn't completely in the corner so cutting a part isn't usefull

has anyone a solution?
please help me!
its really irritating!

Put a small piece of masking tape over the affected portion of the screen.
