Son of a bitch!! 178mins long... Man... Getting it now, but man, at 1.85:1 with 3000kbit/sec, this is going to look like ass, and there's nothing anyone can do to improve it (unless you buy it).

Even the MPT version was pushing it bitrate wise (they had approx 3500kbit/sec)

What can you do. This might be the best version out there since it has the extended edition and no re-encoded menu. But the price is 15% less bitrate...

If anyone gets this on a big screen, please post your opinions. It will be a while before I get done D/ling Mr. 3000, Shark's Tale and Shall We Dance (which I will move to last place and allow Ray in there )

I dont quite see a reason as to why they left both versions on the disk... if they took off the normal version, more resources could have been left to the extended version. who wants the normal cut anyway, when you can have the extended version?

Well, the normal cut and the extended cut are from the same VOBs, just a different path it takes through the movie. So basically, the normal version here is free and takes very minimal on the disc, simply skipping the extended/extra scenes.

Yep, VOBiD rip/stream whatever u prefer, its equaliant to keeping and rendering an extra. Original movie stream stays the same no matter what, the extra scenes weaves itself within the movie.

Big ups to the UBER L33t amongst u. This has NOT pred on any sites that i'm on and thats all i'm saying. To those that have it congrats but MPT was good enough since i plan on buying the Limited Edition retail DVD this February 1st. If u can find it it sounds like bitrate takes a hit. I have a sample but i'm unsure of the source based on that it looks to be about the same quality as MPT however. Low bitrate long movie.

8/9/Waiting till Retail to watch the extended version. I'm just NOT L33T enough i guess.

I didn't know it was a race to "who gets the release first"? If it makes you feel better, I never was able to find or get the Corrupt version of Alien vs. Predator...

But ya, I'll be buying the Limited edition from Blockbuster when it hits the $9.99 range For now, this one will have to do.

Turns out i was L33t enough, LOL. LIKE ANYONE CARES. Just some of the curries considered it a dupe. Downloading Now. Just to compare. I still will buy the full retail Limited 2 disc set when it Comes out this Feb.1st. An Exta 20min of footage looped in sounds good to me. Thank u Replica for making this release A reality.

Full Release : Video - 3000kbps, 6 Pass CCE, Audio DD.5.1

NOT Bad at all considering it contains both versions. on 1 DVDR

8.5/9/8.5 Jamie Foxx deserves an Oscar for this performance

Well, I set up and watched this version tonight (the extended one) and man, I was not happy. This is a gripe with the actual retail DVD.

So, watching the movie and then the "extended scenes" come in. They are 4:3 with black bars. Of course I'm watching this on a 16x9 TV. So the screen pauses and gets cut down with bars on the side and bars on the top. After the scene was played, the picture returned back to normal. Poor ass video quality on the extended scenes too. Replica did a great job, but Universal did a shit ass job on the DVD.

I do understand why MPT kept only the theatrical. This was a let down unfortunately.

Good job to Replica, their heart was in the right place.

omfg, why must u talk about sites your on, its in every post by u.

maybe the reason its not their is becuase of site rules, some rule like no dupes of files already on site, dupes including extended edition, Directors cut, and the rest of them

anyway stop talking about site u pay for leech on! and just rate the release,

lol

Ya so this was a bit off with the video but not much that can be done their. sound was perfect of cours. movie fuckin owns!

I just played the extended version on 3 different players as well as Power DVD. However the extended scenes do not appear. Looking at the VOBs I can see what the scenes are like but they do not play. Any idea if there is a fix for this?

Thanks

Posted by DeViT on 01-31-2005 05:32 PM:

Angry

I am having the same problem, from what I can see the subtitles stream for the extended version is empty. The note symbol that should appear and the extended content should be played. So the note symbol will never appear.

Would need the missing subs to be able to put the note back, but as to why the content is not played I can't understand maybe Replica have made some jump/call changes that have adjusted the GPRegs.

So this basically becomes the another release of Ray but with a lower bitrate. Cos the space was wasted on scenes that never appear.

Shame

Now that I see that I'm not the only one who couldn't get the extended scenes to work, I have to ask you porco to please tell me how you did? It didn't work on my dvd player so I tried playing the dvd on my pc in powerdvd, that didn't work so I extracted all the files off the dvd and tried playing it directly off my hard drive. Then I just gave up

Posted by blitz55 on 04-09-2005 03:18 PM:

Has anyone found a fix to play the "EXTENDED" scenes?

Can they be repaired with IfoEdit or a DVD authoring program?

Thanks in advance.
