UPDATED review: 6/2/10

video: odd...brightness spikes in the middle of CD1 then goes down

audio: unless they used some crappy cam that records in mono and with a crappy 3.5" Stereo Jack into the cam, there is no reason why it is only 1 channel

movie: great movie

bottom line: this release, while it has the worst audio mix, is the best one so far in terms of visuals.

Nuked for left channel audio only.

Well, Video Source is nice, a little blurry, but nice colors and nice cropping. Audio would have been nice if it wasen't for left side audio only! Movie looks like somthing i will never watch

can anyone confirm if this version is the full 143 mins rather than the short versions previously released

Agreed, thats what I want to know, full film? if so I can live with left channel only, can always mirror it and give a right side as well, ok so its not stereo but..

edit: unlikely its full? 3 discs of svcd wont give you 143mins?

the AR is off on it also its 16:9 anamorphic it should be 4:3 for svcd but its early days for this grp room for improvement

Phantom of The Opera.. some bad movie from a bad director, wanting to look like a magnificient opera, but so bad it makes me laugh.. if I remember it good.
Video was decent, too bad left channel audio only; but props on trying.

u have obvously never seen the stage version of this, the original musical by andrew loydd webber, this matches if not surpasses the stage version which i didnt think it would do, good if u like that sort of thing.

Nice try from the group, shame about the audio, hopefully they will get better in time and bring some good offerings to the community, but as was mentioned earlier, even at 3cd SVCD this no way is 143mins, will finish watching cd2 and cd3 tonight when the missus goes off to work and will see..

Even with the 1 channel audio,this Ts is far superior to any other release so far,better pic, better audio,usual scene nuke,easily bypassed with a run through with Tmpgenc,cd1=47.22,cd2,49.30,cd3,35.24.

Phantom of the Opera

This is much better then that cobra cam, Who ever gave him the idea who could do this it sucked!. But this one is much better and the whole movie is on there mirror scene and all. For what your getting it is enjoyable now
