Backing Up DVD without the trailers

Im trying to backup a dvd with dvdshrink.

ive selected reauthor and just selected the movie, one of the extras that I want and the menu

I burnt the image that dvdshrink created but nothing happens when I try and watch the back up.

I guess I somehow have to'tell the dvd that when put in a machine it needs to load up the menu. How do I get it to do this, can I do it in DVDShrink or do I need to use another program?

Any thoughts?

easiest way to do it, without going through all the reauthoring is on the full dvd screen... where you can change the compression ratio...

click on extras, click the combo box where it normally has "automatic" and change it to a still image...

the default image includes text to the effect of "this item has been removed from the dvd" and then returns you to the main menu

Yeah thats definately a step in the right direction. It means that my movie file can be a whole lot bigger and of its of obvious better quality. Id really love it to go straight to the menu though rather than having to skip through several stills of the pre menu trailers. Is there any program that will allow me to do that?

Thanks for your previous help, that was really great.

*edit* I found something called dvd remake which im going to try out

thats where ur prob is... dvdshrink cant 'remap' the navigation of the (retail) menu! If u MUST have the menu... or should I say 'keep' the menu and working ur on the right track with using something else, that concentrates on menu navigation

There are lots of programs to do this. I like VOB Blanker, and PGC Edit.
