Audio problem with Hitch SUBBED TS COBRA

I have no sound when I try to play the movie. Can someone tell me what codec is needed to play this movie?

How about a bit more info...

Is it the COBRA release or a reencode?
What are you playing it back on?
What codecs do you have installed?

man i use nero to burn to cd then watched it in dvd player no sound
then used ach.120 saME THING THEN TRIED TO WATCH IT IN MEDIA PLAYER no sound srry for caps
i now im a neb here but have been doing this for over a yr
and this is the frist time this has hAppen to me

The release is Hitch.READ.NFO.SUBBED.SVCD.TELESYNC-COBRA.

I found the sound issue when I burned the bin/cue to cd and played the movie in a Sony DVD player. Once I realized something was wrong I checked the files on my pc, I know that is backwards, but I was getting used to everything working all the time.

I mounted the files with Alcohol 120 and played them in PowerDVD, still no sound. I extracted the MPEG from the bin and tried to open it with virtualdub (won't even open, and I have the mpeg filters for it) and then windows media player, which wouldn't even play it. Media player didn't give me any errors, it just would not start playing.

Now, as for codecs, I have tons of them installed. I never have any problems with any files playing, as long as they are properly made. I have Divx pro, xvid, and a ton of others. There are over 200 codecs installed on my pc, so it is kind of hard to list them all. I installed gordian knot last night to see if that might have the missing codec, but it didn't.

The only program that will play the movie is VideoLan. Since that program is a stand alone, it's codecs do not affect any other programs. So, because it plays in this program, I know it is a codec issue, but I have no way of knowing which one because Videolan will not tell me.

I figured someone that has the movie working on their pc could check the properties of the file and see what type of audio it has, or run it through one of those test programs that tell you what codecs are used to play it. I ran it through the programs I have, but I get the wrong results because the sound does beep once in a while, so the program list the codec that is being used to produce the beeps.

I attached a list of all the codecs on my machine, if it helps.

I figured out a solution to our problem. I still have no idea what the correct codec is, or if it is just a clash of codecs, but with a little work you can make your copy playable on a DVD player.

- First, extract the video using VCDGear.
- Then get VirtualDub-MPEG2 (if you don't have it already) and open the file you just extracted.
- Go to file and Save WAV.
- Then convert with TMPGenc (Make sure you select the audio you extracted)

I converted the the files to VCD instead of leaving them as SVCD, that way I can fit part 1 and 2 on one disk with ease.. This release really shouldn't have been SVCD to begin with.

I tried virtualdub earlier, but I could not open the file by simply using the mpg filters. VirtualDub-MPEG2 did the trick and everything works perfectly now. Let me know if you have any problems.
