-- Exorcist The Beginning *NTSC* - DVDRIP - ThP (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=55291)

Ahh, another release where THP lies about their bitrates. This time we have DTS+5.1+4100 on the video. Here is the math:

768kbit/sec(DTS)+448kbit/sec(5.1)+4100kbit/sec = 5316kbit/sec

The movie is 114mins * 60sec/min = 6840seconds long

6840 seconds * 5316 kbit/sec = 36,361,440kbit * 1024 / 8

Total in movie alone according to NFO is 4,654,264,320bytes, which is already over the pre-authored size (4,595,000,000 bytes) on a DVD-R.

Then of course they have the menu and the extra interview they left on.

At least this was not as obvious of a false statement as their Motorcyle Diaries NFO where it was 4.9gigs of video only + audio + extras + menu on top of it.

french audio for exorcist is 5.1 , dd commentary is 2.0 , both stripped as said in nfo.

all subs kept, and the only extra is less than 400 mb....

meaning they prolly just didnt downsample the extras towards scene standards, cause in all honesty, who wants to watch a behind the scenes interview with the director at perfect quality ? anyhow
rls is r1 retail, works nice, menu isnt authored or downsampled. if there were this many chiefs how come the brooklyn bridge was sold for 12 dollars?

anyhow, back to the real reason people are supposed to post.

video - 8
audio - 9 ....thanks for dts
movie = 6 its ok prequel

you guys could just download the movies and check average bitrate yourselves with a viewer on the main movie vobs, dont need to spread mis information...and if you had it before these guys, so now you have this info, im sorry you didnt win your "race"

What "mis-information"? I am going from constant bull which THP spreads in their NFOs. The whole point of this forum is to discuss releases, not just vote. In most cases the NFO is all many people have to go from, and when that's false (which is was by approximately 600kbit/sec, meaning the bitrate is closer to 3500kbit/sec, not 4100 on video), then there is nothing wrong with discussing it.

So you voted. DTS and you give audio still 9/10. But if it will make you happy, I will vote too.

Video 7/10 - Decent video, but with lower bitrate in many dark scenes (which was most of the movie). Overall not bad, but not great. Hard to judge without seeing the retail.

DVD-R 5/10 - Useless extra kept and BS information regarding video bitrate in their NFO.

And WTF is this "race" you're talking about?! All you did is quote the NFO a couple times and the rest of your post makes no sense. And why are you even stating "menu isn't authored"?! And then you top it off with some quote regarding the Brooklyn bridge... Holy shit, you're on some good quality drugs.

Glad to see you missed the entire point of my post.

Looked nice to me

Well I seen this movie before so I took random stops in this release to check it out.

I dont have surround sound yet and no biggie tv but it will come one day.

On the computer with all enhancements that powerdvd is offering I couldnt find anything that bothered me.

On my medium sized tv no problem there either.

I like groups who keeps the DTS track, hey they can even take out the dd5.1 and just keep the dts in my mind. Gives me another reason to buy the surround system faster.

If it was me who did the release you would find movie only and the DTS track. everything else would be gone.

Good job THP

who gives a flying f''k about the brooklyn bridge, the .nfo, or whatever the hell else these guys are talking about. Thanks for the r1, it looked good enough for me, the DTS track rocked my walls ... enough said.

I <3 R1,

9/10/6 (movie kinda sucked, prequel's normally do)

I have to agree. I ripped my own and killed the dts and extras and got 4123 bitrate with dts and extras I barely got 3150 which isnt acceptable with my standards so either they used some bullshit instant copy proggy and just quessed at what at the bitrate would have been. Either way no way 4100, 3100 most likely. And sorry on my big screen theres looked like crap.
