need help converting hide and seek telecine

hi all
need a bit of help converting heed and seek telecine, i use winavi to convert the files, but has converted them over 4.7gbs so does any1 know how i can make the mpg file smaller before to convert to dvd so it can fit on 1 disc?

What are you're settings in WinAVI? I know you can set the number of discs, disc sizes (4.3, 4.7, 5.0 etc), process by speed, quality, audio bitrate. So if you're settings are correct, it shouldn't convert over 4.7 if you have set at that number (which in my experience, it never quite reaches that with 1 avi, and maybe half the time with 2).

i got down the release by kvcd king, its mpeg about 800mbs, now this 1 won t convert at all, the speed does be at 60 then drops 0 and no error messages cum up, only the time starts goin to 10 hours etc.

That's your problem then... You've grabbed a reencoded (and highly compressed) copy of the proper release in a non-standard format and now you're wanting to squirt that back out to a DVD... KVCD is crap dude, as are all reencodes - what you're doing makes about as much sense as dumping a Quicktime stream on a DVD
