Audio Filtering

Just wondered if anyone had info on running the audio from certain releases through say Adobe Audition to reduce the echo etc... I did it with a release a while back to remove the hiss and the movie was much more watchable. I'm sure there's some clever chap out there thats played with filters etc to change the audio, be nice to have some info on settings etc. (btw this is not so i can be a complete twat and try to release stuff with edited audio )

well it depends... 1.Tools u have 2.Time u have 3.Know-how

First, u dont want to experiment with the whole sound at one time, because if it is not filtered enuff u just wasted alotta time!
Now u can (using my favorite TMPGEncplus) mpeg tools and demux (seperate vid and sound) run the outputted sound through ur favorite sound editor (goldwave)... like I said use a snip of the sound first, remember the settings u used for filtering and then apply it to the whole sound. Then finally mux the vid and audio back together...

Or-

you may get lucky with ur source for sound, being an SVCD mpeg or even DVD audio... Goldwave will open it straight from the video file itself... do the hiss removal, save the sound and then when u go to encode just use that 'new' sound as your audio combine with the original video...
