I just figured out how to convert dvd to xvid using auto gordian knot adn dvddecrypter succesfully, but I cant figure out how to seperate the subtitles so it not permanent.

grab a lil program called VobSub(.sub and .idx)...install it and click the shortcut called "VobSub Configure". These subs will be bmp subs...if you want text based subs you can use Subrip(.srt) or other tools but keep in mind that they will use OCR to convert the bmps to text, so they may not be completely accurate.
