How to Permanently add subs to avi?

I got this foreign movie and I want to add
subs to it permanently. After that I Im going combine the 2 part avi with virtual dub and burn to dvd with winavi. I havent found an easy way to do this u guys have any suggestions?

if you get a directshow filter (google.com ) and have the movie and the sub in the same folder and the same name winavi should auto. load the subs and hard encode it to the dvd video. So just make sure they are the same name and in the same folder and you have a directshow filter and then just go ahead and encode it in winavi
