from sample has 2 annoying lines at sides of picture will repost when ive got full release
7/8/7
I saw the same lines when viewing the rels via PowerDVD. They progressively get worse the further into the film you go.
However, it played fine on my standalone player and 28" widescreen TV.
Good quality TC as usual from METEOR.

during the whole movie, u get the annoying lines at both side of the picture and it get worst the longer the movie last...
me culpa, this problem only occurs on the PC, when u watch it on a TV, of any screen size, then u don't see the lines!
The quality is great!

It´s 5.1 sound, but the language in the rears is not english.
I think it´s russia. Nice telecine from there .
Quality of the picture is perfect...
video 9
audio 4
movie 6
Video quality is great although there is a slight shake to it as mentioned, probably due to a loose gate on the telecine used to scan the film.
I can appreciate that the edges of the film strip have been left visible to avoid re-encoding as they are not visible on a conventional TV anyway due to the 5% action safe area.
What is surprising though is that the audio language/sync problem has not been fixed from TUN's release considering the time METEOR has had to do it.
The 5.1 sound seems to consist of a mono English track placed in the center channel of a foreign surround track and not properly syncronised, this creates a weird echoey effect on the surround channels and also causes speech to be noticably distorted on many scenes.
This can be fixed however by demuxing the ac3 using a DVD ripping program (I used DVD Decrypter) into 6 mono wav files and then upsampling the center channel to a stereo track using Sound Forge (or whatever) before remuxing it with the video using your DVD authoring program of choice.
So you lose the 5.1 (unless you want to upmix the mono to 5.1 although I doubt the result would be very good) but at least you don't have the echoing and the foreign track playing in the surround speakers.
This is a real shame as the video is great regardless of the slight shake and this was a great movie that I'd really like to have a keeping copy of.
