Interesting Problem playing SAOSIN rls

Hi guys
I am having a weird problem playing back SAOSIN rls for some
reason.

The first time I put the Hostage SAOSIN rls discs into the DVD player
It played no problem, no jumping in the frames or anything

I put the discs in a second time
And this time
The TV went Greyscale and then when it started playing
The frames were jumping up and down like crazy.
I tried Amittyvlle Horror SAOSIN and it did the same thing
I am bout to try Sahara L8r on but I dont get what happening.

Thats what I have a problem figuring out
Im not sure if the laser is starting to go
Or its the settings on the TV or the DVD player

But I got it to play perfectly once and the second time
That crap happens
Any suggestions guys??

He tells the truth^^ Sounds like a typical PAL/NTSC switching fuckup. Check your DVD player and TV settings and if you can't see anything it may be the auto-detection on your TV that's getting confused - If your TV supports auto-switching when you use an external "source" (like a DVD player via Scart) put the TV onto a normal channel, turn the DVD player on and press play and hopefully the TV will switch over, pickup the correct format and show the picture correctly.

Well
Its not the TV
I got my Sony DVD player to play the SAOSIN rls's np
Loads them fine onto the TV

So that tells me
Its the DVD player
Now, my problem is
There is absolutely no options for NTSC/PAL Configuration
TV Output has nothing like that in the settings.
So, I am not sure
Maybe If I play wit the settings it will work

Sony DVD players are a bit hit-and-miss... My Sony NS430 plays everything I throw at it, but my previous Sony play was shite

Neversoft
This Sony DVD player is a ho man
I can only get TDK CDRW to work on this DVD-Player
No other media loades into it
This one is a picky SOB
I am waiting for a email from pioneer on settings and
resetting your DVD player to default, etc
I might just buy another one.

I'll let u know how it goes

Yet another poetic poster.

It definitely sounds like a pal/ntsc problem though. Do yourself a favour and buy a tv that supports both!

I was all for this bad boy, until I bought a new vid card with TV out....cuz it wont play some releases (qpel) and the subtitles function (on divx) sucks. Plus it doesnt play ogm/mkv

Dirty lens wouldn't cause black and white playback really.

Just saw this lovely post, scrolled down, all the time to myself and Damn!, Mr Grinch beat me to it, well I'll say my piece anyway.

Ahh yes the dirty disk, the common cause of most playback problems. I remember I had the same problem with sin city ( black and white for most of the movie). Left in a tin of paint stripper overnight and hey presto, the next day it was right as rain playing back in perfect sundrenched colour.
