Ive inserted hte disc and it does not burn it, all it does is let hte timer keep going. weither i have hte dsic put back in or not.
Turn off smart encoding in options and maybe try to write to a folder instead, then burn.

i have had similar probs with nero....tell me,what burner do you have and explain a bit more detail as to exactly your prob....sounds very similar
save yourself the hassle and use something else...
well i can burn it to the hd with the image recorder and then sue alcohol to burn it to a dvd (( infact nero always burnt my dvds really slow but alcohol burns it at 4x, idk why i had it set all the way to maximum )) but yeah, is there somethign in nero i need to fix or something?
Open NeroStartSmart, click on "make your own DVD-Video, Add Video Files (Avi, svcd vcd, etc - click 1, 2 or 3 files of the svcd vcd avi movie), arrange cd1, cd2 in sequence, click on all arrange files to merge (icon in middle left), if the combined files are bigger than 4.7 G - based on the bar below, click on "more," unclick create menu on disk and never use black thumbnails, click on "video options," under DVD-Video click arrow on quality settings, select custom, change the bit rate, the default should be 5073 Kbits/s, lower it to 4000 and click OK, Do you want setting to become default - "No," if still over 4.7 G, lower the bitrate more until it just a little bit under. Next - Next - and burn, for me it takes an average of 4 hrs to encode and burn an avi, svcd, or vcd movie to dvdr format.
That's it - one software Nero (with Nero vision) and a few clicks.
