disappearing codec????

ive done a quick search of vcd but still think peoples input realtime fixes prob....anyway.....i have this prob where i can watch dvd movies and internet stream for 3 months or there about and then i boot and i cant watch jack .....? seems like missing codec but i watch shit all the time...any advice besides sarcastic...would be nice....ive checked my installed codecs and im under the impresion i have the lot....dont want to download more codecs ...bad......so so do i piss the lot off and start from scratch or what....just downloaded windows player 10 again and still nothin so advice is more than welcomed ......ps...yes i have had a few victoria bitters ...the best drop in the southern hemisphere...lol edit audio fine

I had problems with windows media player so I just use media player classic and never have problems. Open the file with gspot or avicodec to make sure you have all the codecs required for playback.

Edit : Also if you have a codec packs get rid of it and download the specific codecs you need individually.

Have you recently updated your video drivers? I've found, atleast with my ATi cards, that sometimes when I install the latest drivers, is causes either my WMP or PDVD to not work. Usually I go back and re-install the drivers again, and the problems fixed.

thanks fellas...up and running......i actually sys restored to the lat time i knew it was working and no probs....but i will now piss the codec pack off and use gspot....id say a cross betweem laziness and being a bit naive (getting codec pack)thanks peers
