Talking DTS SOUND 5.1 DIGITAL

OK, so I got my avi file, not all files I download are in dts sound or 5.1, so how can I take a avi file and whenI play it in my stand-alone it plays in DTS or Dolby 5.1? HELP!

well dts soundtracks can be about 1.5gb, so you won't ever get an xvid/divx encode with them. dd5.1 ac3 might be muxed in tho, check the nfo file for audio. still too many shitty rls' with 108kbit VBR audio, which makes no fucking sense in 2005.

couldn't agree more pho....

if you're talking about taking an xvid with mp3 sound and upconverting it to dd5.1, then the process is tedious, and won't really result in better audio...

my suggestion is to just make sure your receiver uses ProLogic II, which takes stereo sound and outputs it in virtual 5.1 sound to all your speakers.
