Cam Cobra

ok this may sound stupid but What do you use to open a Cam Cobra download. I have "The longest Yard" and I was told I need a password to uncompress it. I have the password. But what do I use to decompress it???????? It comes up as a winRAR file. but all files are the same so it was put together by something. I just don't know what. Sorry for a stupid question.

You need a copy of WinRar to extract them (I was hoping that bit would be obvious). As for them all being named "the same" they're not... They all have three-character extensions on them, probably a .rar then .001 .002 .003 etc etc. Window's CAN be set to hide extensions for known file types, it's in the Tools > Folder Options > View settings in Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer!).

Anyway, install WinRar and right-click the .rar file (or the .001 file if the .rar doesn't exists) and select extract - if it requires a password, you'll be prompted for it. Also, because the files are numbered sequentially, you only need to unrar the first file, it'll unrar the remainder itself.

Oh, and this has been answered before quite a few times, use the search option or I'll break your fingers

Finally... If those rars really ARE password protected, wherever you're downloading from sucks fat, blistered, monkey-cocks

I think some irc chans do but haven't had any need for it for awhile so can't be too sure.
Plus there was the time when CTP used to password protect their release to stop them getting onto P2P networks.

The TDX rules always used to state that the files should not be password protected and would be nuked if they were. Not sure if the rules still apply as haven't seen any updated ones for awhile.

Actually, if anyone has got an upto date copy i'd appricate a look at them.

Cheers

Jobber

Just FYI:
There are 3 different ways to rar a large file into 14.3mb (47.6mb for dvd) pieces.

Method 1:
Files are named .r00, .r01, .r02, .r03.... + a .rar file. Extract by opening the .rar file.

Method 2:
Files are named .001, .002, .003.... Extract by opening the .001 file.

Method 3:
Files are named .part01.rar, .part02.rar, .part03.rar.... Extract by opening the .part01.rar file. Files can also be named .part1.rar or .part001.rar depending on the number of parts.

*Edit*
Fucking crap, he's banned.
