Mpeg audio 23.976fps to ac3 25fps

hi all
im have in trouble with is mpeg file

i used virtualdubmod to get the audio


so now i have a wav file..

ive been using ac3 machine to change the audio to 25fps

when its all done im left with a ac3 file .. (with no sound)

?? any ideas ??

when i do this with an avi/divx/xvid movie the sounds fine and works

with the mpeg movies they dont

is it something to do with the 1411 bitrate output wav file i get from the mpeg audio???

Or ...

U have a 23,9.. fps AC3 file which you want to convert to 25fps sound file and u end up with no sound?

Wav to AC3 isnt a big problem, you can use besweet (and besweet gui if you prefer a winform interface) for that.

Search the doom9.org forums for more threads about fps conversion, im sure there is usefull info in it.

Not 100% sure what ur trying to do here but it sounds like ur trying to remux ac3 audio into a newly converted 23.976 > 25fps video stream?

As you've found, this will work for divx/xvid/mpeg-2(dvd spec) video, but not mpeg-1(vcd)/mpeg-2(svcd) spec video.

Reason it doesn't work is because vcd/svcd spec calls for mpeg layer II audio - in other words, if you mux ac3 audio into those video streams, when the codec plays back the file you will only get the video playback and no audio, or nothing at all...
