definite sync issues

at 15 mins 10 secs the words CONCEAL V appear over video on left side for 4 seconds too

no scrolling warnings or anything tho

black n white movie, but couldn't see it change to black n white either, which u would notice from the various colourised parts

Hehe, they could've been kinder on themselves, instead of saying 1.82:1 as it's much closer to 1.81:1

- so original DVDSCR must be like 1.80:1?

Also, they could've settled for MP3 audio, and really pumped up the video bit rate, since the original AC3 is only stereo anyway.

I saw that there was a group.req nuke. Strange that iMBT request a nuke when it's only a codec issue.

edit - Oh, you using PreTorrents, XtranhU?
edit2 - Oh, nah, nevermind. I see you and the other guys commecnts on Filelist :P Oh, and the original retail DVD is 1.85:1, so yeah I see why they say 1.82:1 rather than the lesser

See there's a prob with that though -- XBMC (which is based on MPlayer) will adjust itself when there are sync problems. You might not even see any problem with a release which has obvious issues.

That's pretty optimistic. Amazon has the retail DVD slated for a mid-August release (16th). If so, then the rip will probably be early August, about 4-5 weeks away.

xbmc has the option to adjust sync but doesnt do it automaticaly and hasnt done it on any other release thats brrn out of sync, ive also converted to dvd and played it on a tedelex dvd player and a sony dav 880 and still its spot on

also is it just me or does this copy seem to have a tad more colour inn it

Posted by mattmatt02 on 06-27-2005 11:50 AM:

this is very nice judging by the sample. however, i will probably wait before getting the full thing because im unsure about whether there is sync issues or not. hopefully someone can confirm this for definate soon....

until then my ratings (ignoring sync issue)

10/9.5/10-movie is fantastic

ill stick with the ts until sync probs are sorted

NUKE IT: still audio problems with latest codecs

I have the latest versions of divx (6) and ac3filter (1.02a test8), and the audio is still out of sync. Even worse, the left audio channel is cut by 50% about 30 seconds into the movie. This should be NUKED.

hmm....updated codecs and it still appears there is a sync issue....

Posted by Rob Brown on 06-27-2005 10:14 PM:

9/3/?

Video is spot on.

Audio is not only out of sync but it's out of sync by different amounts in various different places during the film so it would be very hard to repair.

This is not a codec issue, I have the most recent XVID codec installed and the sync problems are definitely there, sound effects (i.e. gunshots and other non-human noise) all seem to be OK but the voice-over is all over the place, maybe the studio hasn't finished editing yet?..

It's a shame because I've been waiting for a good (i.e. DVDSCR or good TC) release of this film for a while now, will hold off watching it till it's propered with the audio fixed so won't rate the movie for now.

Yes, it has the option to adjust sync manually as well. However, the core of XBMC is based on MPlayer. Read up on MPlayer's features to get an idea of things that player just does inherently.

It should be self-evident that there are inherent issues with this release because the group who released it asked for it to be nuked. Do you think they would've asked for it to be nuked if it was all ok?

why has this guy and some others been saying that theyve been waiting for a good rip before watching? SAOSiN's TS was excellent quality so why not watch that? me thinks they are perfectionists!
