The Bourne Ultimatum

Source: Variety

Universal Pictures has signed Tony Gilroy (Armageddon) to write The Bourne Ultimatum, the first step in getting the third installment of the studio's successful spy franchise off the ground.

"Ultimatum" is the third Robert Ludlum adaptation for Gilroy after 2002's The Bourne Identity and last year's The Bourne Supremacy.

Matt Damon has publicly expressed interest in reprising his role as Jason Bourne, but no deal is expected until after Gilroy's script comes back in. The studio is also holding off talks on who'll direct. "Identity" was helmed by Doug Liman, while Paul Greengrass directed last year's "Supremacy."

The two previous "Bourne" pics have together grossed more than $500 million worldwide and been big earners on DVD, selling 15 million home video units.

loved the first one, great action movie, the fights were some of the best choreographed and shot i've ever seen outside of hk/jap/kor movies.

second movie was 'hmmm', great driving sequence and one really good fight, but not as effective as the first one all round IMO.

would worry that a 3rd one would be just the same-ol-same made just to cash-in.

i prefer the second one tbh

Hope they dont fuck this up!

Hopefully it'll round out the trilogy nicely. Looking forward to it.

Couldnt agree more.

So far the 'Bourne' films has been superb, one of the best action movie series... would be a shame to put in a crap 3rd installment just to raise easy money.

I think it would be very hard for them to fuck up a 3rd movie..its gonna be awesome!

This movie is gonna be so tits. Love the first 2.

Bah, the movies were so-so. It's hard for me to watch a movie after reading the book, especially these since they left so much shit out I find it hard to believe Lundlum even lets them show it. Ah, the almighty $.

mmm, loved the first one,
tha second one was acceptable, but a third one will be TO much. They will certainly fuck it up and the nice aspects of the first two will be lost...
A shame that they milk out succes. They should stop after 2 successes.

Digging this one up from the past, but better than making another thread.

Teaser and Theatrical Trailer here.

The teaser is a little old as it looks like the same bad guys/gals, but the full trailer has the new eveil do-er, much more interesting.

I think it looks fucking great, unless the trailer is the very best and only decent parts, I think this one should no-ruined film.

did anyone else read the books? the third book takes place when bourne is like 40 or 50, so whatever creation they're putting on the screen, it wont be ultimatum.

Hrmmm no one has commented in this thread about the movie after it was released. Has anyone seen it?

I have the first two on dvd, and I enjoyed both. However, after watching the trilogy (I assume this is the end) I must say the 2nd movie was the best.

I know this isn't a comments thread on a release but I give it 7 outta 10 with the 2nd in the trilogy being an 8.

I would watch it again in the cinema. So, my answer is yes.

I will probably watch RH3 but I highly doubt seeing it in the cinemas.
