Great release! A bit late on posting this rls here... Pic is fantastic albeit slightly side cropped and sound is good but not the best. cheers to the ones behind this! 9/6.5/8.5 I loved the movie!

::edited because after the full watch of this release i had to change the sound score, the sound reminds me of a workprint that some sound hadnt been added or normalized/touched up... some times its too low sometimes high, just look at cd2 when the military goes and tries to fight, the sound is low during war time? hmm...::

very nice rls. a bit of cropping on the sides, but pic is great! dark scenes are good too. audio is great too.

9/8.5/7

Posted by KillaK on 07-08-2005 08:50 AM:

9/8/10 for me

Can anyone confirm that this is mono sound? I'm definitely not hearing stereo and all the sound seems to come out of the centre speaker for me.

Damn good release though

BTW, is this pretty much the 3cd SVCD version that just got posted? Kinda running up the miles downloading multiple copies.....thank god for the sample.

Posted by pacattack81 on 07-08-2005 10:13 AM:

definately not a 9 due to the fact it seems a bit blurry to me

video-8.5
audio-haven't really listened to it closely...seems good

Video: 9
Audio: 8
Movie: 7

Great release!

Posted by mattmatt02 on 07-08-2005 11:11 AM:

i saw the sample last night and to me it looks like the telecine of "unleashed" that was released a while back. its very nice and graininess/artifacts are to a minimum.

as a tc:

10/9.5/will go an see next week

V: 9
A: 8
M: 10

I think the SVCD is a little more clearer, but that could just be my eyes, they both look excellent.

The audio is very good as well, just a little deduction for a little hissing, and it seems like it's mono, not stereo.

Like I said for the SVCD, this movie kicked ass, watched it in the cinema, and once on my TV.

Unlike the majority of those above, I think this is very poor for TC source.

Worth no more than 6/6, very dark, and pixellated, several encoding problems. Audio very quiet in places, very loud in others. Movie is disjointed. Some scenes don't link to others indicating heavy editing.

Certainly nothing close to the hype imo but it killed a couple of hours for me last night...

wow, amazing quality for such a recent movie, and respect to the grp considering the late events...
got this before seeing the svcd came out, but I think this one is good enough

slight crop but good pic, clear audio

8/9/?

Posted by workz on 07-08-2005 09:15 PM:

Good release, nice colours, sound is a bit quiet.

Nuked for stolen audio.... but who cares

8/8/5

Posted by wixmmm on 07-08-2005 09:49 PM:

i haven't seen the whole movie yet, but i've skimmed through the FULL DOWNLOAD.

I'm disappointed its not widescreen, but only because my computer outputs to a 16x9 tv.

The audio sounds clear to me at all the spots I skipped to and the picture could be really great with some tinkering of saturation, contrast, brightness and maybe a little gamma and hue in VLC...

Totally watchable, great, great release.

And i don't understand why people think we care about their opinion of a 10 megabyte sample... when I read comments I want them from the people who have the WHOLE movie, not the sample absolutely anyone can, and always should, check out for themselves.... god people, what kind of pirated movie gurus do you think you are? download the whole thing THEN tell us what you think you idiots.

the worst is the people who have only seen the sample yet conviniently don't mention if they are basing their 'rating' on the sample or full... you're not fooling anyone.

::EDIT:: You're WRONG... You're here to rate the quality of the release not the movie, the sample is enough for that - NS::

Well, i agree it's dark in places.
Ever hear of a telecine? dark goes without saying.

As for the audio being quite and loud in places, than k speilburg and all other directors making movies right now, all movies seem to be geared for home theatre sound, making talking quiet but sound effects/music loud as hell.

I didn't find any scenes not linking with others, and as this being the third time i've watched this flick, 1 being in the theatre, it seemed to be perfect.

It does have a slight blurr to the picture overall, but there's not ghosting, so it's a fair tradeoff.

If you could maybe pin point some scenes that you feel aren't linked, we can try to verify that.

8/8/6

movie was weak, some good scenes but they killed it with the ending.

Thumbs up

Overall I felt this was a very decent release. I didn't notice any blurring at all, and the dark scenes were actually pretty crisp, nice colors and all.
I'll be the first to admit that I dont sit through films looking for flaws and such, as long as I can watch it without anything 'quality-wise' distracting me then I'm happy. If all telecine releases were of this nice quality I would be happy.

Rating full release:
Video: 9 - Nice, crisp, and almost perfect, except for a couple minor glitches on CD 2.
Audio: 8.5 - Sound was clear and not distorted, although the speaking parts were sometimes pretty low compared to the explosions, effects, etc. But as someone else pointed out, that may be due to the way the film was made and not because of a fault from the release group.
Film: 6.5 - Not great but entertaining nonetheless. A few times I had to shut my brain off to get past things that just didnt make sense to me. Worth the 2 hours to watch.

V = 8, because the basement scene is good visible.
A = 7, because there's a slight hiss and it sounds mono.
M = 9, because all the time there was a nice tension.

Posted by Mollins on 07-08-2005 11:19 PM:

Video - 9 Pretty bloody crisp, but in a few scenes these wee dot kept appearing in the centre of the screen
Audio - 8 Good job on the audio, Got pretty quiet on some of the talking parts though, likely its just the way it was made though
Movie - 5 Hmmm, Id rather have it set in victorian England, with just one man. I mean how fucking annoying was Dakota Fanning? i hate her soo much. And i didnt like the idea of the machines being underground already. Just stick the the original story Spielberg you fucknut
